funny story...

i'm staying at a buddy's place in alexandria through the weekend, and he doesn't own a tv, so i checked at the next door bar / restaurant to see if they'd have the game. There was a 2-person band playing in the background when i went in.

me: will you have the saint pete bowl on, on saturday?

they: no, definitely not

me, dejected and surprised at such a curt, quick answer: oh. any idea who might?

they: you could try xyz down the street, we're about the only bars with bands

me, very confused: bands? i'd like to watch a football game. it's on espn

they: football? What channel is it on?

me: uh... espn

they: uh, not sure

me: know any sports bars around here?

they: er, try zyx down on king street

me: ok, thanks.

as i was walking out, i realized that while i had said "saint pete bowl" they had heard "same people". some folks just don't care about football like we do, LOL
