I disagree.  it was time for Wally to go.  The defense cost us several games last year as well.

The USF fan habitually casts all blame on the coordinators -- an old, old story. Maybe it's time to look for another root cause.

Truth is, this team was not mentally prepared or motivated to play today -- that's the head coach's job.  And he failed at it today. As he did at Rutgers. And Pitt.

Wally's defense didn't give up 30+ points this often.

+1

we've change coordinators, players, uniforms, and athletic directors.  there's only 1 thing that hasnt changed-- the lack of mental preparation (drive-killing penalties, lack of game-time adjustments) and you-know-who

the one thing that a burnham defense had was an identity and pride. we were going to show up every game and hit you in the mouth (sure tackling most times)

kind of like any marty shottenheimer teams (KC/SD) you will be black and blue at the end of the game win lose or draw.

Scheme is overrated and the DC can’t do much when you are getting blown off the line of scrimmage.

Wally wouldn't have done much better tonight.

The defensive scheme has had ZERO to do with our losses this season.  It's hard to win games when your offense can't sustain drives and relies on big plays (mostly out of busted plays) to put points on the board.  Also as someone else said Wally wouldn't have made a difference today or in our losses unless he could have suited up and and played beastly at DT.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
