Grothe:  “I guess it will be a little depressing, my last time out there,’’ he said Tuesday. “It will be the last time I’ll be on the field for a game.’‘

It might be a bit depressing for some other folks as well.

Senior Days always got me a bit emotional.  Then again, I have always looked at the players as real people, student-athletes proudly representing my alma mater.

i dont see why it should be depressing for fans.  should be happy that guys stuck thru the whole 4-5 years and got a degree.

as fans we should celebrate with these kids.

sure, any athlete hates to realize they played their last game (most of the seniors on ANY senior day have played their last game)

but it has the end sometime.  for a few of our seniors the real road has just begun after senior day.

i just hope most of them got their credits in before their scholarship ran out.
