I believe they would have called it an incomplete catch. It was a good catch by Busbee and a heads-up play by Landi. But an questionable decision by the refs. The other thing was that two refs signaled touchdown, and I didn't see anyone spot the ball on the 2, until after the call came from upstairs. To me that's them chaging the ruling on the field without replay.Last night I watched it on tivo, and after seeing it a couple of times, I can see where the refs could uphold the call based on the video evidence. However, I'm still confused on how they ruled that on the field.
Guest nybullsfan
not sure if this applies here, didn't see the ctach, but...it seems recently that the on-field refs are 'punting' the calls to the replay boothif they blow a whistle and call the play dead on the field, then even if the player gets to the endzone it can't be reviewedif they call it a catch or let it go as a non-call on the field, they know the booth can always reverse itI foresee a day when there's only one ref on the field and ALL of the calls come from the booth

He did not cleanly catch it, he never had complete possession. The ball never hit the ground. Landi scooped it up and ran it in. The correct call should have been a TD by Landi. One of the announcers said it was an illegal forawd pass (Rutgers 07 anyone???). Busbee made a great effort, was bobbling it, got destroyed, then had the ball land on his chest where Landi picked it up and walked in. We scored 2 plays later, and it actually helped burn off more clock, so the call ended up in our favor.

The refs are absolutely killing college football this year. They're letting the people in the booth decide the game depending on what teams they want to go to certain bowls so those bowls can make the most money.
