Inconsistant conference play, poor play decisions, and crappy playing in games to COUNT Isn't going to get USF ranked.Until USF can prove itself that it will compete week in and week out in games that COUNT (read conference games), then rankings do not need to be brought up. Whoopie **** we beat OOC teams, 1a and Div II teams and are undefeated then drop conference games that we should just ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE. Ranking be **** at this point of the season. Guest
Even with a Miami win there is no way we sniff the top 25. We have created alot of doubters amongst the voters and the ESPN crews' commentary during the Rutgers game will stick with alot of people.Beating Miami would get us votes... 8-3 record with wins over three Top 25 teams... winning out and USF is ranked again.Chances of that happening? 50-50 at best. U Conn has a better team this year than two years ago when USF couldn't make it happen in Hartford...And voters have VERY SHORT memories... it's all "what have you done lately"... Rankings are still important as national perception for people (and voters) not familiar with our program (there I go again). Geez, we got votes in the Harris poll last week after the beatdown and we were ranked 38 in the extended BCS rankings. I think this week we could be in the low 30's and will definitely be in the top 25 BCS rankings with a win over Miami. Chillax, message boards exist to discuss this kind of eternal optimism along with the negative.

I can't count how many times I saw a team get blown out, but was back in the polls a couple weeks later after a big win.Voters won't remember the Rutgers game, if we beat Miami.USF might be ranked after beating Miami, but will definitely "sniff" the top 25 (receive lots of votes) at 8-3.Watch how many 3 (and 4) loss teams are in the polls or receiving votes today.
