My honest game analysis (for those who only think I am negative)

This has positives and negatives in it.  No, I'm not going to come here and post a bunch of things that say how great this team is and how this game was a "big" win.

Offense = BJ played great today.  His running ability has been there all year but I was impressed mostly with the accuracy on mid-range passes.  Still don't know why we pass so much with a 2 score lead.  Especially on 2nd and 10 when we attempt a 40 yard pass.  Passing on 1st down is great but why not run on 2nd and long to make 3rd down manageable.

Defense = Pretty good overall.  Gave up a lot of yards but didn't break...only allowed 2 TDs on defense where one was on a non-call pass interference.  Front 4 didn't get the pressure they usually do and that costed us some downfield passes.

Special teams = Bad, just bad, except the field goal.  The best weapon they had was their kick returner yet we kept kicking it to him, didn't understand that.

Overall = Nice to see a win to be able to go back to the st. pete or pizza bowl.  I was expecting them to handle louisville easily because louisville sucks but it was a closer game than it should of been.

Outlook = Miami game could go either way because USF is home and Miami is out of conference.  Uconn is a big east road game not at syracuse.  Bulls would shock me if they won that one.

How low does it get?  One thing to collapse during the season but how do you allow a 14-0 lead to crappy louisville go away in such

a short time?

Because their coaches make adjustments and ours do nothing.

USF might finish the season 6-6.  This team is not good.

usf is making louisville look like a good team...can't shut the door on them.....had a 3rd and 2 and called 2 straight pass plays

instead of giving it to ford...they will definitely lose to miami and uconn

usf defense let's this pathetic offense go down the field on them yet again...plenty of time for usf to lose yet another game.

here comes canales' offense to run the same plays that don't work

So they have a big run then go straight to throwing the ball again play after play.  Does canales have a clue what he's doing?  He

likes to get away from what's working.  Offense gets nothing and now our non-tackling defense gets to go out there and give up the

game winning drive...terrible

I had to stop it was wasting too much time...

But you see, the credibility just ain't their hoss.

the whole offense played very well... When everything clicks (even though UofL is really bad) we look good.

When receivers make plays it helps a young QB like BJD to gain confidence.

KION WILSON. He played an incredible game. Selvie IMO was a bit more disruptive this week than he has been over the passed few weeks.

Murphy needs to see a lot more bench. People just pick on him and end up beating him multiple times. I like Kayvon Webster in his spot opposite Quenton Washington.

Special teams was awful... Same story with kickoff returners, they get no blocking, lack vision(probably hard since they really can't run anywhere bc they are swarmed by defenders) and generally don't set us up with a good field.

Coaching I that was improved, i really hated the fact that they didn't call a TO on the 50 yd field goal... They rushed the play and it showed.

I agreed with the 4th down call... gotta go for the jugular against a team like UofL.

I think the receivers played very well. That catch by (Busbee?) in the  4th was insane! I still think it was a TD thou.

yeah i thought that play calling was atrocious at the end of the half... calling a run play with no timeouts?

My gripes are over coaching:

1. Why is BJ running the ball with about 1:37 left in a 34-22 game?

2. If you call stupid plays like (see #1) why is your next & only other QB (Landi) playing @ WR?

Other than that, lets hope we have a fun game next Saturday.

Canales did a much better job calling this game than in our other losses. What I appreciated most were the wrinkles that have rarely if never shown up before! Ex: the inside shovel pass, the option pitch to Ford (which has worked TWICE. yet I have only seen it twice, so by my calculation that is, um, 100% of the time).Good use and execution of the short-yardage stop route, also.

Canales needs to continue to mix it up, but shouldn't that be obvious?
