CHARLESTON, S.C. - University of South Florida sophomore forward Augustus Gilchrist hit 15-of-16 free throws to lead the Bulls to their third win of the season, a 65-58 victory over Davidson in the Charleston Classic.The Bulls (3-0) will play at 9:30 p.m. Friday against the winner of the LaSalle / South Carolina game.USF led by as many as 12 points with seven minutes to go in the second half, but Davidson cut the lead to two with 57.8 seconds to play.Gilchrist made 5-of-6 free throws in the final 37 seconds to help the Bulls hold on.Junior guard Dominique Jones recorded his third career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while junior forward Jarrid Famous added 10 rebounds. Jones' last double-double was Jan. 20 against DePaul when he had 26 points and 10 rebounds. DoJo struggled mightily in the first half. I listened to the Davidson broadcast and holy crap... that announcer was bashing Jones all night, basically calling him garbage... saying he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, that he panics any time someone is near him, etc. Jones did much better all around down the stretch of the game.
