OK.  There is nothing good about the losses.  I hate seeing us lose-- especially when we get owned.  I, like everyone else, would like to see some improvement in conference play from season to season.  But since this board is not a very happy place as of late, and enjoying Bulls football is supposed to be a fun thing--not a depressing thing, I'm looking on the bright side!  Here goes:

1.  All of my stupid gameday superstitions are out the window now.  I don't have to worry about wearing a certain shirt, wearing my hat a certain way, or drinking out of a special mug.  It doesn't matter, so I don't need to get so worked up about that stuff.

2.  I may save alot of money if we go to the St. Pete Bowl.

3.  I don't have to worry about checking to see where we are ranked each Sunday.

4.  Friends, family members and acquaintances aren't continuously bugging me for extra season tix.

5.  We don't have to melt the white helmets.  Hey, even though I like the gold better, we can still use the whites now and then--we know the helmets aren't causing the losses.

6.  Most BullsPen posts are about the game, the players, the coaches and the opponents.  I don't have to read posts about the color of the helmets, about how I'm not a good enough fan because I drink too much and I sometimes do not get to my seat before the running of the Bulls, about how I should dress at the games, about how some people don't know all the words to the Alma mater, about how our fans are rude to the other team's fans, about how the student section wasn't full enough, etc.

7.  I don't have to work out complex mathematical formulas about how we could possibly win a BE title this year.

8.  I don't have to root for teams I hate because it may help USF in the rankings.

9.  I can finally concentrate on my work--so I won't get fired for surfing the web for more Bulls football info and conversation.

10.  Reduced prices on Bulls gear just in time for Christmas.

::)

Lol unfortunately most Bulls gear probably won't go down before Christmas.....well I work at a sports store (Sports Fan-attic) and I know at least we won't be putting it on sale before then..although it would be nice.

I mean they haven't even thought about putting Bucs stuff on sale yet...and that says enough in itself.

But other places might do it.

Expectations are dashed like a red hot poker being put into the water.

Great list.  Now I don't have any expectation for next year because I will call it rebuilding year.  Actually, I think I will call the next 3 years rebuilding.

If we go back to the St. Pete bowl...we get to kick the living **** out of UCF again.  That's definitely a good thing.

Although, I hope that would happen, I don't see it .... The Kaniggits are just talented enough this year to beat us in a game that I doubt any players or coaches will be getting up for.

I would wait to see our Miami game before making that statement.

(9) Miami (FL) 27

    UCF          7    Final

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
