Or lose the game out right. It will be because Coach Leavitt has officially lost the team. Keep an eye on this. Look at what happen in the 4th quarter at Rutgers.

Didn't this happen last year?  "Leavitt losing the team"

And i remember this happening in Years past...like in our terrible '04 campaign...and our marginal '05 campaign...you know...when we got SHUT-OUT in our first BOWL GAME!?!?!?!?!

Some questions need to start being asked about the direction of this program...and the training these players get to become...STUDENTS of the GAME!!!

GO BULLS!!!

I think if you look at the last three years the team has played strong after the slides and not given up

2007

beat Cuse 41-10

beat UL 55-17

beat Pitt 48-37

lost in Sun Bowl to Oregon 21-56

2008

beat UConn 17-13

lost to WV 7-13

beat Memphis in st pete bowl 41-14

So with that said I predict

beat UL

split UConn/ Miami games in close games

beat St Pete bowl opponent

our slumps have all had something in common all three years and thats Cincy and Rutgers which we seem to have trouble matching up with and out play us and out coach us. I think Pitt is moving also in that direction.

So your saying this is a repeat of years past? So this is going to continue for a few more years.

Going back on what I was pointing out. If you include this year those mid season slides have included TEN loses, EIGHT of them are to the three teams i mentioned Rutgers, Pitt and Cincy.

So since we play those teams in the middle of the season expect mid season slides until we learn to beat them. by the way the ONLY time in the three year period that we have beaten any of those three, Pitt, was when we played them at the end of season and not in the middle.

So maybe Woolard and Leavitt need to lobby to open season vs one of those three and end it with another so we wont face them in a row down the middle of season

So the shutout in charlotte against an ncstate team with 3 first rounders on their D-line is an indicator of this year's team?

You better define "eek out" so we'll know what to expect.

We're at a point where many think we stink, but then think we'd "suck" if we won.

I want to know how rowdy this board is gonna get if we just eek out a win.  Help me.

I said it would suck to eek out a victory against lowly Louisville simply because they are a team would should dominate. We match up well, have better players, and coaches. This game SHOULD be one-sided.

IMO the boards mental health will depend on how the team looks in victory with a small margin.

Couple factors:

PLAYERS - If the players come out with the following:

Discipline

Intensity

COACHES - If the coaches prove to us that:

They have better prepared the guys to play

Can make in-game adjustments

Put players in positions to be successful

Then all will be well with a small margin victory.

If the team shows no fire, or discipline, and the coaching display is terrible.... Well then we will have defeated the vill based on raw talent alone.

Of course, if we blow UL out of the water we are back to being in the BIG FOUR and on-track for a 10 win season.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
