What a rollercoaster ride.

High's and Low's this season have been nuts.

High's: Knocking off FSU in Tally, smacking down our ***** WVU.

Low's: Getting crushed by RU, Cincy, and Pitt.

You know what, even if we only manage two more wins this season (including bowl game), BJ as a redshirt freshman matched Grothe as a redshirt freshman, with a win over FSU and possible UM. Not bad considering our O-line hasnt showed up for a game yet, and other than JPP and Kion Wilson the D hasnt showed up either.

I would feel okay if we beat UM this year... However, I would still end the season with a horrible taste in my mouth knowing we **** the bed in BE play.

I really think we need to get better at recruiting linemen... We need big nasty OL/DL guys... This staff seems so concerned about getting guys with track speed (not football speed) instead of looking for the big uglies that can get it done in the trenches.

I think BJD has looked terrible besides a few bombs. He has shown flashes of greatness but I really expected a little more even as a RS freshman. I was looking for improvement game after game and much more consistency. It is pretty clear that if his first read isn't there he tucks the rock and looks for a hole. This doesn't work then the defense plays a talented spy on you the entire game. IMO depending on how Carnes looks in camp you open it up. If BJD looks better you RS Carnes and hope BJD can turn the corner (which i have confidence he can).

Losing to Pitt and Rutgers in the fashion that we lost were two low points in the entire history of the university.

Very few people will remember those losses 5 years from now.  For those following the team since '97, there have been a number of jaw dropping losses all of which have been followed up with bigger wins.  It's the way things often go.

If you are waiting for improvement you will be waiting a long time. The great Matt Grothe showed marginal improvement at best in his three years as a starter.

It's funny how USF is predicatably up and down within the same season, while UCiF is predictably up and down in alternate seasons.  I don't know which is worse. GB!

True, also remember that Grothe was not playing two sports either... I think BJD's role with the basketball team will impact his improvement.

Hopefully I'm wrong.
