That's certainly legal when trying to prevent the reception of a forward pass, but I thought the punt returner had to be given a chance to catch the ball. I think our guy would have caught the ball with the old halo rule. Still, he probably made two errors on the play. First, he should have called for a fair catch. Second, he shouldn't have attempted an awkward catch in windy conditions . . . now about the fair catch, that nobody saw, on that kickoff return. GB!
