Week 3

1) USF's Game

#19 South Florida (3-0, 0-0)  37  --  #13 Kansas (2-1,0-0)  34

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2008 schedule.

#40 North Carolina (2-0 ,0-0)  44  --  Rutgers (0-2, 0-0) 12

Tennessee-Martin (2-1, 0-0)  87  --  Concordia College Selma (NAIA Team)  21

#27 Clemson (2-1, 0-0)  27  --  North Carolina State (1-2, 0-0)  9

SAT 09/13 -- 3:30pm -- #17 Penn State (1-0, 0-0)  @  Syracuse (0-2, 0-0) -- [ABC  |  GAMEPLAN]

SAT 09/13 -- 7:30pm -- Virginia (1-1, 0-0)  @  #40 Connecticut (2-0, 0-0) -- [ESPNU]

IDLE: Cincinnati (1-1, 0-0), Florida International (0-2, 0-0), Louisville (1-1, 0-0), Pittsburgh (1-1, 0-0), and #25 West Virginia (1-1, 0-0)

3) Games involving Notre Dame because of its ties to Big East bowl games.

SAT 09/13 -- 3:30pm -- Michigan (1-1, 0-0)  @  Notre Dame (1-0, 0-0) -- [NBC]

4) Games involving teams two ranked teams and at least one of the teams is ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #19 South Florida, #25 West Virginia

SAT 09/13 --  8:00pm -- #5 Ohio State (2-0, 0-0)  @  #1 USC (1-0, 0-0)  -- [ABC]

SAT 09/13 -- 10:30pm -- #10 Wisconsin (2-0, 0-0)  @  #21 Fresno State (1-0, 0-0)  --  [ESPN2]

5) Games involving a Top 12 non-BCS team, or a Top 16 non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

Highest ranked non-BCS teams: #14 East Carolina, #18 Brigham Young

Lowest ranked BCS conference's highest ranked team: #20 Wake Forest (ACC)

      (Pac 10: #1, SEC: #2, Big 12: #3, Big Ten: #5, Big East: #19)

SAT 09/13 --  3:00pm -- #14 East Carolina (2-0, 0-0)  @  Tulane (0-1, 0-0) -- [WITN-TV (Greenville NC)]

SAT 09/13 --  3:30pm -- #26 UCLA (1-0,0-0)  @  #18 Brigham Young (1-0, 0-0) -- [VS]

6) Other games of interest, including teams ranked near USF.

USF is #19 in the AP poll.

#24 Illinois (2-1, 0-0)  20  --  Louisiana-Lafayette (0-2, 0-0)  17

Maryland (2-1, 0-0)  35  --  #23 California (2-1, 1-0)  27

SAT 09/13 --  3:30pm -- #16 Oregon (2-0, 0-0)  @  Purdue (1-0, 0-0)  -- [ABC]

SAT 09/13 --  7:00pm -- Western Kentucky @  #11 Alabama (2-0, 0-0) -- [GAMEPLAN]

SAT 09/13 --  8:00pm -- #22 Utah (2-0, 1-0)  @  Utah State (0-2, 0-0) -- [GAMEPLAN]

SAT 09/13 -- 10:00pm -- UNLV (1-1, 0-1)  @  #15 Arizona State (1-0, 0-0) -- [FSN Arizona]

IDLE: #20 Wake Forest (2-0, 0-0)

All times are Eastern.  Ranks used are AP rankings.

We MUST have Rutgers BEAT NC!  We also MUST have Uconn beat VA!  Syracuse playing well against PSU will be big too, but it is not MUST have!  I want ECU to keep winning until ucf game!  I think Tulane gives them a good game.

I'm hoping USF, UConn, and Rutgers can escape this weekend.  Cuse is a lost cause.  I don't see them upsetting PSU.  It'd be nice, but it's not happening.  I'm hoping UConn can pull out another win.  I'm not confident in UConn after the first 2 weeks though.

I hope Rutgers finds some sort of offense for this game. They look BAD.

WI@Fresno is interesting.  Don't think OSU will drop out of the top 12 w/a loss to USC.  I will be rooting for ND this week vs MI.  Fug Rodriquez.  Jim dropping the TN-Martin updates would not hurt my feelings one bit.

I agree whether they go 1-11 or 11-1 it wont effect our SOS.

I love having a good game start around 10-10:30 on a Saturday night like Wisconsin-Fresno State.  Nothing like going 12+ hours on the couch watching college football!

For the record, I care about Tenn-Martin.  Just sayin.

I agree.  I believe it'll be 14 hours for me.  16 if you include College Gameday.

I think I'd like to keep it there now too (not that you were going to remove it, Jim).  It may keep me happy to see at least one of our opponents winning games this season.
