We should do a better job of selecting our players.   Stupid to sign kids who are wayyyy marginal in the classroom.  Then you end up short in various positions because of kids who don't get clearance....  Or they end up in JUCO.

It's better to take a chance than have nothing at all.  I'm sure if the player is questionable they know it and continue the recruiting process accordingly.  You just don't get all the poeple you want or need.  It's better to take a shot at these guys than to have a 100% chance at a glaring hole in the team.

I may be wrong, but I don't think this has anything to do with good or bad grades.  It's just a formality with the NCAA and getting the proper transcripts from their high schools, etc.

Baker is on that list.  He has great high school grades if I remember correctly.
