MICHIGAN RUNNING BACK PLEADS GUILTY TO DUI

Posted by Mike Florio on August 15, 2008, 10:26 a.m. EDT

Arrested on July 2 for operating a car with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.281 (what did he do, drink an entire keg?), Michigan running back Kevin Grady has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

He’ll be required to spend three days in jail or perform 24 hours of community service.  He’ll also be on probation for 12 months.

The plea was entered on July 29 but was first reported on August 14 by the AP.

Grady is participating in practices, but he has been indefinitely suspended from playing in games.

It’ll be interesting to see how new coach Rich Rodriguez deals with the situation.  During his time at West Virginia, Rodriguez was rarely criticized for harboring turds like Chris Henry and Pacman Jones.  We’ve got a feeling that it won’t work that same way in Ann Arbor.

I think Rich Rod will do better at UM than people deserve, even 7-6 would be a good season.

Just remember Bo Schlembechler wasn't a Michigan man.

I hate both Ohio State and Rich Rod but I think I would love to see

Ohio State kick the crap out of rods team when they play.

At least the kid didn't fire an AK-47 into the air...

I'm not sure I would even be awake at 0.281. That is hardcore.

According to http://bloodalcoholcalculator.org/ a 0.281 is equivalent to drinking a case of beer in an hour, or 16 shots in an hour.  It's like the kid drank a 1/5 of vodka then took a few extra shots (for the road) and got into a car.

That is just strait up ridiculous.

I based his weight at 216 (according to the most accurate source on the web, Wikipedia)

As a side note,

My freshman year we bet a kid in the dorm he could drink a liter of vodka in 10 minutes. The kid weighed about 230 lbs.  Well, he sure showed us.  Unfortunately for him about 20-30 minutes later he couldn't walk and violently threw up in the restroom for several hours.  Some one said he even threw up a little blood.

Chugging vodka, not a good idea...

Though living in the USF dorms and watching someone chug vodka, always a good idea.

Watching people do stupid things = fun.
