With nearly two weeks of training camp complete, two University of South Florida freshmen receivers are making a push toward getting in the playing rotation.

While receiver is one of the deepest positions on the team, Daniel Bryant (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) and Patrick Richardson (6-0, 175) have impressed receivers coach Mike Canales.

“The most important thing is to find out which of the young kids can step up and help us,†Canales said. “Bryant and Richardson are really making big plays. They are pushing the older kids.

“I told [the upperclassmen] point blank if one kid beats them out and is ready to play, I’m going to play them. I don’t care if it’s a fifth-year senior, the best kid is going to play.â€

Improving group or receivers and reduced INTs would be nice.
