It seems as if bowl ticket sales are something that each bowl looks at when deciding on a team to invite. Is there any thought to giving a point or half a point for each bowl ticket bought through USF? Seems like a way to urge people to but tix through USF.

I am sure this system has been given alot of thought and changes were probably even made from the original system that had been created. I highly doubt, they are going to alter this sytem with ideas that everyone is coming up. I am sure all the questions we all have,  whether it be points for HOT or points for bowl games or points for this or that, have been thought of by everyone before having a finalized system in place.

Actually that's a very good idea indeed! We all know we can't please everyone but that would be a nice incentive and reward for those that make it to the bowl games.

Catch 22 here... what if we get to the point where we have enough priority points to sell out an entire bowl allotment?  Then those who have enough points to actually GET bowl tickets get even MORE points for getting them?

Seems to me that that would be unfair in the long, long, long term...

We did think about it long and hard and because we didn't feel like we could do that without counting all other post season and road travel, we just didn't feel comfortable including that.

I am fine with that and I go to 4-6 away games every year. I think you guys came up with a fair system that has taken a lot of work. Thanks for all you are doing. This time last year our priority points were a mystery - Big Improvement!

the other thing to consider is that people will buy tickets with the person who has the most priority points (or the person they can presume has the most)...only 2 people from our group went to the bowl game and we bought our bowl tickets on the account that had higher priority to sit together even though both of us have our own season ticket accounts.

Some bowl games are also easier to go to than others. If you schlepped all the way out here to El Paso last year at what was certainly significant personal expense, wouldn't you want more credit for that than if you went to a bowl game in Florida? And should you get more credit for traveling 1700 miles to go to the Sun Bowl than I should for only having to go 500 miles?

The bigger issue isn't bowl games... but the other post seasons... do you credit them as well.

Eric said it best when they didn't think about it for too long... it's obvious that the issue is far too complicated to find a method for assigning post-season points.

They have a good system -- one that applies the same rules to everyone.  If you don't like your position, you can do something about it -- donate, buy season tickets for other sports, become a life member in the alumni association.  Yes, these all cost you $$, but that is how athletics operates.  I am low because I haven't yet done these things... and while I was planning on it, the limited ticket issue is making me reassess my timetable.

I was not complaining about the system at all. I bullieve it is very fair. Just wanted to know if they addressed the bowl situation. Once I am a little more established I plan on donating what I can to Athletics, Granted I could have done more than I do now. Some day I would like to be up there and not have to worry about my points.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
