Weist makes sense to help Lamar, odd seeing him at ST coach.  Willy being  a rb coach is good for him. He gets paid and still is in the coaching game.  i don't see Willy geting a fbs  hc offer anytime soon. He has never won a bowl game in 13 seasons coaching in fbs and has a losing record.

Willie has a losing record in 4 of his 5 stops. Only place he went out winning more than he lost was Oregon. He was 7-5 there.

Willie should thank Q for his millions, that was the only reason he didnt flame out at USF.

I would think that happens most often because there is more room to go up than down.  The real skill is keeping a team at a high level, not lifting them up from the effects of the dullard that preceded.  But you won't like that argument.  I would imagine 2/3+ of coaches could walk into a **** show and improve it (over the course of four years). Some in one season.

Im not sure about that.  CCS and CJS clearly failed at that here and I don't really feel like CSH did that either.    So we got CWT and then CAG (incomplete)....   I'd say 1.5/5

We've never been known for hiring competent coaches (CJS). Or even sure the ones we hire really want to coach (CCS)

It's easy to look at our systemic failure and apply that to all, but that's not the case.

Willie recruited well.  That's his claim to fame.  He did wonders for a very brief period.  No problem with that.

But showing up to a 2 win team is a helluva lot easier to "leave better than found" than rolling up on a 5 win, 8 win, 10 win team, etc.

Golesh developed a QB1 and took USF bowling in year one, taking over the worst FBS program over the previous seasons.

At the end of his run outside of his one recruiting class at USF, this is Taggart's legacy, which will live on forever with the TURNOVER PURSE. The purse comes filled with zero bowl wins and lots of cash. Willy was just ahead of his time and was trying to create the FSU warchest to break the GOR and get out of the ACC.

A record that will never be surpassed, may he always be properly remembered as reigning supreme for that glorious day and atop our record books.

Yeah, forget the Jim.  Can we get a TJ statue outside the OCS?

I mean you can’t argue with success.
