USF will have to play every game ballsout all season if the losing culture is to get rectified. Yes, even Howard. Would hate to get humiliated by them. CLS will prob have his team ready to come back to his alma mater and do some damage. BYU(big game) FL(big game) Howard? We've had a lessor team hand it to us at home in the past when we weren't ready. Even a BYU win(wonderful) but a Howard loss(horrible)-would negate that win. Just sayin...Lots of talk BYU and UF with hardly a mention of the 2nd game speed bump in the road

That second game will not be close.

So true, if it is then put a fork in the season, that team is straight ass and should serve as an exhibition game.   We are straight ass at well just at a higher level.

I'm all about respecting opponents, but if we are worried about beating Howard (5-20 over the last 3 years, losing to Maryland 79-0 and 62-0 in the process) then we need to reassess this whole football thing. I realize that we lost once to McNeese State, but that McNeese State team went 10-2 in the regular season and was a respectable 7-4 the year before. Also, if we beat BYU, I can't begin to fathom a scenario where we lose to Howard. We could not attempt a single pass against them and still beat them by 10+ points.

I do hope your projection is correct. Should....Should be a 30+point win that allows some of the backups to catch some time. Start the 1st units to hone their gameday timing/log some stats, then rest them after the big BYU (win) to get ready for UF.

ESPN now has our odds of winning each game out too:

BYU - 35.2%

Howard - 99.6%

UF - 12.3%

Louisville - 14%

ECU - 52.1%

Cincinnati - 11%

Tulane - 45.9%

Houston - 19.1%

Temple - 68.8%

SMU - 37.7%

Tulsa - 41.5%

UCF 23.6%

Let's hope for the 5 wins instead of the 3 and epic program meltdown.

I could see anything from a 4 win season to a 8 win season with this team...lots of unknowns.

Gerry at qb and with talent brought in and a Good DC this team if it all clicks could be very exciting.

I don't know if we can afford to do that badly another year and have the sharks circling.  If there is progress, then you are building toward something and the momentum will pick up.

We really need to win 5 games. 5-7 would likely mean 4-4 in conference play. Being average in conference would be a step in the right direction. 4-8 would mean 3-5 in conference play. I don't think that would have the same feel as progress and would have us in the bottom 1/3rd of the conference once again.
