Bulls Earn NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

BULLS EARN NABC TEAM ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD

KANSAS CITY. Mo., JULY 16, 2020 – The USF men's basketball team continued its recognition for academic excellence on Thursday when the Bulls were named recipients of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellent Award.

The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season.

The Bulls posted a semester-record 3.45 grade point average and ended the academic year with a 3.02 cumulative grade point average. In addition, 13 student-athletes earned a spot on the USF Athletics Honor Roll, and seniors Laquincy Rideau (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Antun Maricevic (Zagreb, Croatia) both graduated in May with a bachelor's degree.

The men's basketball team also posted a perfect single-year APR score for 2018-19.

Just another reason Brian Gregory is the right guy for this job.

Rare combination. Competitive on the playing field, exceptional in the classroom.

I heard they would have had a 3.5 for better but the guys faltered at the end of the semester due to CBG's poor tutelage down the stretch.   If they don't pull a 4.0 next season he needs to be canned ........

A great achievement by the Coaches and Players. CBG is an all round good coach. He instills pride, drive and self-confidence in his players. We get so caught up on TBP with the on-field/on-court related topics we lose sight of the long term, these student-athletes getting their degree. And hopefully, going on in life making a contribution and a positive impact in society.  Nice job

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
