Should the XFL make it to 2021, it appears that

B.J. Daniels and Quinton Flowers may have accomplished enough to make their mark in the league, according to this writer:

Quote

The game is evolving and it was shown in the XFL. Quarterbacks with fast legs were more successful in invading fast, athletic pass rushers than ones that stay in the pocket. That’s why the XFL has to consider building the league around mobile quarterbacks who are playmakers. PJ Walker and Jordan Ta’amu are off the board as they signed with NFL teams, but we saw the emergence of mobile quarterbacks like BJ Daniels, Quinton Flowers, and Tyree Jackson so flashes of big play potential. Those are the young quarterbacks the league needs to build around for 2021.

I'm not sure B.J. qualifies for "young" anymore, however....

Color me shocked that the second iteration of the XFL failed after one season...

Sucks for our guys that are still in it but nice to see it at least got Nicholls a second shot at the NFL. Much like the AAF and DJ.

I would assume this is related more to corona virus and the economy taking a dump than the league actually "failing".    I wouldn't mind watching it in the NFL off-season if it comes back.

I would agree, it was the best minor league football since the USFL, I would watch it again If the economy does not collapse.

Best case for an alternative football league is making the decision to allow high school/college players to enter the "minor" leagues before 3 years after their HS graduation like the current rule states. If a kid wants to (or needs to) start making money early, this is another avenue. It would siphon off some of the college talent, but it is entirely fair and doesn't close the door on a kid who can play football but academics, either through ability or motivation, is standing in the way.

I did say this would be the only season of the Tampa Bay Vipers.

Nice that you could foresee the pandemic.
