I think what is obvious is the Big 12 is going to get some money. And then UT and OU will jump ship when the GOR expires in 2024 or whatever. ISU, Baylor, KSU....they all see it coming and they know there is nothing they can do to stop it so enjoy things now and hope the problem goes away. USF wins the conference (football) & attendance is up; and our basketball situation is resolved.... Then we can be the ideal powerhouse.

Dude obviously knows something with the order he placed the schools ... The 17 schools that will make their presentations to the Big 12 include Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, South Florida, UCF, UConn, Memphis, Colorado State, Boise State, Tulane, Temple, East Carolina, SMU and New Mexico, sources said. Their biggest current markets are Dallas/Ft. Worth (5th) and Austin (39th).
Guest
What I'm hearing on Big 12 expansion: the timetable (subject to change) is mid September to early October.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016 Video presentations by schools to Big 12's Bob Bowlsby should run a couple of hours each. Told at least 14 schools. ESPN reported 17 today.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016 The 14 have all publicly expressed interest. If there are 17, it could be from a group of San Diego St, UNLV, N. Illinois and Fresno St.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016 Told that 12 or 14 both remain options for conference, zero far less likely. Fourteen means more $$$$, bigger footprint, more stability.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016 Told 12 is a safe middle ground and means that Big 12 feels reasonably confident about its future and possible new media interest come 2024.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016 Not expanding would be a PR disaster after public announcement. Only reasons not to: if huge TV extension in works or lack of consensus.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016 Why all the presentations? Told Big 12 feels if school expressed interest, deserves chance to make a case. Could help schools on bubble.— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) August 12, 2016
