Power 5 Scheduling

If we don't get into the Big 12 it might start getting harder to schedule P5 teams. ESPN gave this ultimatum to the ACC:

expand the league schedule from eight to nine games, while continuing to play at least one outside Power Five opponent annually; or, remain at eight conference games and play at least two nonleague Power Fives each season.

Ten games plus a patsy or too doesn't leave too many games for the Group of 5. UCF just scheduled a home and home with UNC and we have one with Georgia Tech (2021-2022), not to mention the hope of continuing with FSU. The Big 10 and Pac 12 play 9 also. Slim pickings to prove ourselves against the P5.

I'm sure they will continue to make exceptions for Cincy, USF, UConn, and certain AAC teams just like they have been

Everyone is having a panic attack like the world is ending for USF football when the G5 is still 3-0 vs the P5 in major bowl games since the designation

If it's going to be tought to get a P5 on the schedule down the line, why doesn't the G5'ers get together and push for their own playoff format.

 

This would make things interesting if you took the money aspect out of it.

FSU went on record this morning wanting to only play 8 league games...
