You need to get a bar on campus, EVERY university has one in the student union over here and is a good income revenue for the university

RJW, that's a no brainer with a legal age of 18 in the UK.

In the late 70's, the Empty Keg was a great gathering spot - decent live bands and cheap beer.  I think it moved downstairs when the drinking age was changed to 21 in 1985.  It's probably hard to maintain a good bar crowd on a campus where half the students (I think) are under 21.

Unfortunately, UF has us beat there, and on the theatre.

The article did say it would have a 600-seat activities theater. Is that different from what UF has?

I believe UF's is an actual movie theatre that plays the new releases..., althought the SEC has no problem with Movies on the Lawn, so i guess that counts, kinda.

I've sat on the MC renovations committee and i can assure you that everything will be top notch and i can also assure  you there will be a USF themed bar and grill. I'm 100% sure. Everyting else will be determined though surveys that will be going around campus as soon as they get things going. You can give a big thanks to USFGriff for getting everything rolling when he was student body president. ALso a shout out to USFMikeB for all his help with the MC renovations when he was senate president. They were huge parts of the process.

Matt, any idea on when the project will be completed? (I would guess probably Spring or Summer 2006)

No idea when it's going to be compleated, but i'm sure surveys will be floating around campus from student government sometime in the fall. Just keep an eye out for it.

They've had surveys on it before.  I was just a paper asking students to fill in what they thought should be added to the MC.  I think I filled one out last spring semester...

The Marshall Center Renovation Project is moving forward.  Architects have been selected and will be holding meetings on campus next week.  There will be an open forum on Monday, April 11th at 5:30 in the Tampa Room.  The architects will be discussing the project status and are looking to receive input regarding the new facility.
