I am worried about Tom Allen as well... although I am not sure he leaves USF to be a DC at another school after 1 year unless it's a good match. He can get a head coaching offer in another year or two at the most... especially as talented as this defense is going to be for the next two or three seasons.
I don't see him leaving for another DC job with all the returning players next year. If a HC job was offered I am sure he would take. I mean he said he took this job because they offered him a DC job.
