  1. If you sit and wait on the future, it will never get here.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think of building an OCS to be like having kids. If you wait until your are financially ready, it will never happen. As a program we are ready, or as ready as we will ever be.It would be nice to wait for the finances to be there, but that day may never come. If the incurred debt is managed in a smart manner, we would be alright. There are also some costs that would be eliminated, such as transportation since everything would be on campus.

  2. Thanks for the advice everyone. We ended up decidong to wait a year, which is good since I wanted to make it to thw home games this season. We' re going up in June to scout around Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, and Winston - Salem. Ideally, I'll find am acre or two and then build our house that way. I can really go either way on where to live since I love each area. Ought to be interesting to see what she thinks.

  3. Grew up in Fayetteville and will never go back there.  I now live in Winston Salem and we love it. The city is just big enough and a good place to raise a family. Crime is very low.  I can get to Charlotte in an hr. Raleigh in and hr and Asheville in 2 hrs. Oh and Myrtle Beach in three. I think we have the best of all worlds here. Oh and housing prices here are awesome. Good public schools (Always depends on where you live).  Diverse community because of the Wake Forest Medical school. It brings people from all over the world.  It is an ecclectic bunch to say the least. No such thing as traffic here unless you are from here.  I can get anywhere in 15 minutes.

Yeah, Fayetteville is a no go for me. I lived there from 10 - 17, and honestly, I'm lucky I made it out in one piece. Not a place I'm sure I even want to take my wife and daughters to show where I grew up. However, I did love Ft. Bragg. I lived across the street from the back end of post, which made life interesting. What's the job market like in Winston-Salem, since I have an odd feeling I'll be looking for new employment.

  4. I have to echo the thoughts on Charlotte... I was born in Matthews and it's mind blowing when I get back there these days. That said, I'd sacrifice alot for the opportunity to move back up there. Charlotte is and will always be considered home.

West from Charlotte to the mountains is very nice also. I'm not a big fan of the Raleigh area.... seems too crowded.

I like Charlotte too, but Raleigh isnt too bad. So far for housing, my wife seems to be digging Clayton and Angier. I'm not as sold on Angier, since I grew up in Fayetteville and that's a bit too close for my liking with the kids to consider. My main thing is making sure I can secure employment that can support the family, so I can't go too far out. Otherwise, I end up missing out on time with the kids.

  5. Why'd you pick NC?

I grew up in Monroe, NC and try to get back there, at minimum, on an annual basis. The Charlotte of today is completely different than the Charlotte I knew. Raleigh/Durham is very nice. Any thoughts on employment?

NC is where I spent the most time during my childhood/ teen years, so its more home to me. We originally considered Atlanta, but there's too much competition for my wife's business as a portait photographer. For employment, ideally I'll telecommute, but depenfs on the conversation with the boss after he gets back from vacation next week. Otherwise I'll look to transfer departments if I can. In that scenario, I'll have to be around Raleigh.

  6. My wife and I talked last night, and made a decision to relocate this summer to either NC or TN. She likes the idea of Raleigh area, or possibly Charlotte if we go to NC. I used to live in Fayetteville when I was in High School. Anyone from that area that can give some advice on a good area to live and raise our little Bulls?

  7. Indeed. Even with the coachspeak, there were times where CWT gave some not so subtle indicators that there was going to be pain. If the returners on the O-line are not doing what they need to do, it's time to shake things up there. If the freshmen receivers can provide a threat, the running game should function well. It all hinges on the line givibg the QB enough time, which was lacking last year in many cases. Lookibg at the schedule, I'm hoping we at least get 4 conference wins. At this point, I want to see improvement. No matter what, I'll still be there supporting this program, and expanding my ticket count when the kids are ready to see a game.

  8. Hem, you could also use tax act online if your return is not complex. You can file for free on federal returns and it uses the same backend as other programs. This year I'm stuck going to someone as the wife started her own business. But after I see what they do I plan on going back to using it.

  9. I tend to agree here. Something else that I keep thinking about is something one of my coworkers said as it relates to how we are smaller in prestige compared to UF. We are young. Schools like UF and FSU have been playing a lot longer, and also get kids who want to play where their folks went to school or even played. USF's first batch of players might have kids who are almost at that age to start coming in. I think in a few years we'll start seeing that group, IF they are good enough. The economy hasn't helped with fans, nor has the apparent lack of marketing. As for losing, I hope this year begins the rise.I feel that CWT is the man to do it, and hope this year is it. I'm very confident for the season after however since we should have tons of guys with a year in the system. Patience, while difficult, is key.

  10. Thanks Mike! This year was definitely up and down. Met some great people, finally got off my backside to get the tickets, saw a lot of struggle. Overall, I think we get through this down period in the next season or two, and am glad I'm in a position to give a little back to the school in some way. No matter what, I have been a Bull through and through and always will be. Hope to see some of you at the games next season!

  11. Thanks for the advice! I'll have to check out seating maps. Lot 8 was fun since I got the early to get a good spot, but looking to see what 6 and 6D have- That whole meet new people since my kids arent quite ready and the wife doesnt do the football thing. Trying to get my friend to pick up tickets so we can expand the tailgate, but interested in find my fellow posters on thebullspen to tailgate with and enjoy talking about the program over beer and good food.
