  1. They've been awful, but Saturday they didn't look as bad as we've seen. In fact they were better. With a day off I subjected myself to this game again.

A good portion of the breaks by the Miami defense came because a RB.

Take the fumble in the Endzone:

There were 4-5 other plays like that. I was shocked about the amount of time Bench had at times. He's got to work on getting that ball out. He is trying to take his time.

This is exactly what I was telling someone the other day.  We were not THAT bad.. it was a bad atmosphere due to the 30k Miami fans in the stands and we had zero answer to their passing game. Other than that we played pretty well.  I saw a lot of passion from the guys and I saw a couple solid drives by the offense.  We are not too far away from being a solid team.  It WILL happen this season, unlike a lot of opinions out there.  Maybe Miami's backup secondary isn't that great but our passing game took off towards the end when Bench let loose. I want to see us utilizing our receivers more often.  Our OL is getting better, slightly, but better.  So it should happen soon.

  2. Actually I can't get out of my Saturday shift so I will not be making it. Last time I missed a game due to work was UCONN last year. That one went well (depending on your view) so I am optimistic.

Joking aside, I saw a solid offense on the first drive AND the last drive. Considering where we are, also that we were playing MIAMI.. We did well. The AAC is no Miami so we may have a chance at a few wins. I just wish we could throw the ball more... The last drive gave me hope for our future. It WILL get better.

  3. Give him a couple weeks as the qb in practice and game prep and we could see better results by Miami. However, our OL must step up. There definitely WAS a different energy when he came in. It was exciting. It was productive. My guess is that taggart told Evald "it's yours to lose..here's your last chance." He blew it and Taggs moved on. Good call. It's time to move on with Bench.

  4. What I'm saying is when the football program is winning again, migrate to a new board, and delete all the crap on this one because by then 99% of the posts are going to be nothing but rants on fire everyone and replace every player. Who wants to see that crap again?

This. I wish people would just chill out and stop trying to fire somebody after every game.

  5. My realist view:

As much as I hate to say this... This season is looking more and more like a preseason to next year.  We might have to settle for letting the team get the kinks out now and get better for tomorrow. We have always said that USF is in rebuilding since Leavitt left.  Well folks, we are officially in rebuilding.  The 9-3 plush season we experienced back in 2010 when Holtz took over was nice but it was no rebuilding.  We have been lucky to not experience a low this low until now.  This is a humbling season and we can't expect anything from this team.  I know that I will be there every game this year and watch the transformation.  I am seeing bits and pieces of good things... this team just needs to put them all together sometime.

    Now my idealist view:

We haven't played a single conference game yet... We can still win it and make a BCS bowl before we lose our chance completely next year!

  6. I am pretty stoked about seeing my bulls play another big game this weekend! Any game could go either way.. We learned that last weekend (and many other times in our history). That makes me even more excited about Saturday. Anything is possible. When my students fail their first test of the semester, I do not kick them out of the class or fail them for the entire year. I review "the film" with them. We make a game plan to bounce back. I have faith that my team can do that too. Go Bulls! Beat Michigan State!

Leroy Selmon passed away right before the Notre Dame game, which we won. After that game, we've won 7 out of the last 24.

I feel a piece of USF football died with the passing of Leroy Selmon. A great football player and an even better human being. Without him there would never have been USF football.

    RIP Leroy.

It is a strange coincidence that it was our last great win...

I thought that UCONN game last year was pretty great. We got our first interception of the year.  That was pretty huge.

  8. am i the only one who thinks it would be funny if he only gets about 15 carries this season?

What a waste of an opportunity.  I can see his reasoning on some level.. you want to be apart of a championship caliber team to ensure you get noticed.  However, Dyer would be a stand-out and ensure a better draft stock at USF.  This just proves that his decision making skills haven't improved.  We are better off without him.

Great interview with Andre Davis via Greg Auman at Big East errr... AMERICAN Media Day.  I appreciate his honesty about the failures of CSH (what a dope) Not the most politically correct answers but I love it. I have a feeling that this season is going to be better than most of us expect.  I was coming into this season expecting a 6-6 at best, however, now I am expecting BIG THINGS. Tomorrow I may come down from this high but for now, Let's go win this AAC!

We all do dopey things. I remember this guy in the form recently naming himself after one of the older active members, IncrediBull, adding an s87 on the end, Oh, wait, nevermind.
