Think again

Look guys, instead of investing in an IPF for football; we just need to reinvest that money into basketball players. We can buy 2 or 3 superstar recruits and we can be a perennial elite 8 team and get the same publicity a good P6 football team would get. Problem solved
It's actually true.

I'm late to this discussion but I'll give some what ifs. What if initially a coach's spouse unknowingly has it. The coach is around all the players. Everyone is sidelined for a prescribed time. Then a player or players are around someone. Then a player or players test positive. Not privvy to anything but I'm thinking I'm close.
It's totally possible one person gets it by being foolish, doesn't pass it along, but another student goes to a party, gets it, and this could go on and on for well over a month.

It’s because you are looking at USF athletic as an entertainment dollar business model where you have to give people reason to want to give up your hard earned money where as we try to operate on a religion model where you will not get a payoff until you die and reward on earth is not getting your questions answered, having to suffer and give dutifully.
There is no better business model than a religion. Sell a non-existent product that the consumer won't find out doesn't exist until they are dead.

Will they keep moving the pre-eminent goal posts? I know little about it but I have read they the Florida University Blue bloods will keep moving the goals to keep the status a VERY small club.
I expect they, and the regressive legislature filled with their alums, will do everything possible to keep it a very small club.
There's no doubt to me that USF consolidation was another attempt by them to get us to drop below the required metrics by including other campuses not as strong as Tampa.

I represent that remark George! Tough week for us, UCF lost an AD, a football HC, and above all else, my wife and I lost our first ever rescue, Jack. 14 years here, we were his 5th home in less than 12 months,he was a holy mess, but love and attention, turned that boy around. We had to help him pass on Thursday, my life has been a **** mess since then. On we go.3 others to love and care for, 2 of the deaf! Best of luck to every USF and UCF fan. Hug your puppies everyone.
I am sorry for your loss. I rescued greyhounds and helping them pass to end their pain is the last, best gift we give them after giving them a great life, but it just destroys us emotionally.

There’s a reason USF now ranks among the top 50 public universities. Oh, boy, Matt Baker.
I'll take pre-eminent status and top research school and revenues over athletic success any day of the year.

This is sad. UCF fans coming to troll our message board. Talk about fragile egos.
If you've been beating us, try acting like you've been there. Running to another school's message board with delusions and braggadocio is a bad look.
Emulate footnfan1. He's always welcome here because he's rational, objective and a good guy who rescues dogs and isn't delusional about the state of either program.- 1

LOL ... maybe I missed it but I don't think anyone's saying that they scheduled us because they respect us, and if they did say it, they're wrong. Fact is they don't really respect either of our programs, yours probably less so because of the assklownery exhibited. They just like ours enough to throw us a bone with 2-1's, location definitely a factor, which is fine. Bottom line is that we've got 6 games with a couple of the top programs in the country, with the icing being 2 at home (where I fully understand we'll be outnumbered in the stands) ..... and the anticipation leading up to those games will be better than leading up to any aac game, even a conf championship one, which is kind of sad to acknowledge but I think true.
I can guarantee that despite the coach speak, the P5 does not respect either program. At the end of the day we got the pay day games and the home games, and they don't because they wouldn't accept their station in life.

My apologies. My anger wasn't directed at you my friend. It is aimed at CJS due to my impatient-ness . I personally only want one DT and DE transfer this year. I dont think we need to stock up until next year. I like Thad Magnum and Blake Green are good, but we need 1 more run stuffer and 1 defensive end that can give us at least 4 sacks on the year.
You need to hack the portal and get us some defense.

I supppose anything is possible. And maybe he has learned a thing or two since leaving USF and going to La Tech.....but I will take my chances that if UCF takes him, it ain't gonna be pretty. He sucked so bad here, I'll take my chances. If he works out then good for the, just can't see the ceiling being too high. My vote is still with CJS being better. He just seems more composed and has a plan (despite the last 12 months). Call it blinded by the light!
Knowing absolutely nothing about Skip, my gut says he's at Tech for life unless a miracle P5 dumptruck of money came along. He has success, money and stability there and from what I saw of him at USF he doesn't have the competitive hunger to leave that comfort and risk moving up to where he's failed before.

Maybe the stress of being at USF got to him and he became a Foodie/a Gourmand. Nice terms instead of plump, robust, chunky. He probably just likes and appreciates good food??
USF athletes do have a great meal plan, probably coaches do too.

Not really confounding at all. Left high school for a couple of years and now heading back to his coaching roots. A much simpler life style I'm sure and can probably make similar money when all said and done.
He lasted longer than the HS coach Taggart hired.

Who has the running transfer count/thread. Can you add coaches to it lol. Im losing track already.
I'm very curious how much the budget is playing into this.
Gatorbull is doing great work on that. Both with tracking and predicting.

I prefer to look at staff moves as a way we het better. Too often we had assistants who needed to go, but the HC didn't/wouldn't make the call.
I see two things in this purge of players and coaches.
1. CJS knew the talent was bad but didn't realize how bad and is doing a total purge.
2. CJS didn't hire the best people, and that's on him, and he's recognizing and remediating that now.

You're beginning to sound like Frisco and thinking only football matters in the land of universities. The accolades and rankings USF has in things that matter are very good.
