I have a feeling he'll go 7th rd or undrafted and picked up as a free agent

Because the majority of the people on here woke up on the wrong side of the bed and post

@RussHoops: Per a good source, Steve Masiello to USF
Sounds like today is the day we find out
I like it, the fact that we are looking at young and energetic coaches for our programs seems like a good fit for us. Hope to see some success next season in both of those sports and drive some excitement with the fans and community!!
-
Question, are newly signed recruits, but not early enrollees allowed to attend/watch practice, or is that an NCAA violation?
-
Not sure why there is a need to bash an alum now anyways. The idea of college is to better yourself for the future, and these kids seem to be doing that.
Best of luck to them in the future
-
KW has done well this year, was a big part of our success when Champ went down. Has had some up's and down's but most rookie CB's do.
Hoping for the Dexter Jackson (Bucs SB 37) performance from him on Sunday!
-
I like them, USF seems to do a pretty good job with helmet designs and the kids seem to like them too...so keep it up!
-
He'll be gone after this year, this team is bad and they need a different philosophy
-
Pretty good so far, but will wait to see how it translates on the field. The youngsters from last year's group wasn't too bad though.
-
Hey, we have our best ever recruiting weekend happening right now...let's get excited about that!
Boom...we're all Bulls here!
-
I've been reading these main posts the last few hours and some of you just need to calm down...
The AD leaving, for whatever reason is good.
Who cares if he was forced or did it on his own account. And if we are being investigated by the NCAA for hoops, I doubt it will really effect us as bad as we are. It's not like we have or had a Derek Rose on the roster. And really UCF to the Big 12 after a decent year or so...really?
So while we wait for the other shoe to completely fall or become ready for something else I say...unless they are shutting down the athletics program I'm going to relax and enjoy my weekend starting now!!
Cheers

At least an outside/national perspective that saw we lacked the experience and talent needed. Fair assessment and outlook
-
I don't think there are a lot of universities too excited about hiring Petrino right now. A ton of baggage with that guy...
If Strong leaves the Ville they will have the resources to get a good replacement with the money and talent they have.
As for the U, will be interesting on who they can get, Schiano seems like a logical replacement I guess.
The coaches that may be out there looking for bigger things doesn't seem to be as fertile as in year's past. Is there a MAC coach ready for the bigger stage?
-
Nope, tired of hearing all these UCF fans yammer on about how good they are...time to shut them up

Had a guy come up to me in a gym in Bellevue and saw my USF shirt and said Go Bulls, we small talked for a sec and said he was from Tampa.
And that high school has a bunch of studs, would be a nice get if we can get him
-
At the Dolphin hotel in Disney; older guy walked by with a USF polo and my Tampa group gave a go Bulls; no reply...
Come on man!!!!
There aren't too many of us wearing the Green Bulls gear, so it sucks to get the snub. I will say, it's mainly the older guys who snub. At the UConn game, young Bulls were searching out fellow Bulls & giving high fives. But if I'm travelling, and see someone wearing the gear, it's hit or miss. And, side note, when I do fly, I try to wear a USF shirt, if nothing else, to help with awareness (drop in the ocean, I know, but it's a start).
I do the same, always travel with some green and gold on...and I travel for work a lot. I'm surprised will all the other USF stuff I see in airports. I'll throw up the horns and I usually get a go Bulls or get a smile.

Never understood this. Unless you are golden for the first or second round, why not take a year to improve and get a college degree?
Why wouldn't you go? NFL minimum salary is something like 400k. If you are condident in your abilities to play ONE season in the NFL, you could set aside 10% of your earnings and be able to return to college for your final year whenever you want. Then you can use the other 90% to invest, buy a house, or just have one of the best years of your life. If you can stay in the league longer than one year, then you are starting to set yourself up for life.
If someone offered me 400k as a junior in college, I absolutely would have dropped out of school.
Maybe you think that Lynch can earn himself a bigger contract, but I think if he goes pro this year he will probably be drafted and earn way more than the league minimum. Also, he'll be drafted as a project and will have much better coaches to get him to be a better player.
A year sitting on the bench in the NFL, getting NFL instruction, making a nice paycheck >>>> Coming back to USF, sitting in class, learning from a bottom of the barrel DL coach, and only getting 2-6 wins.
EDIT: I totally understand why a competitor would want to stay in school if he had a shot at a national championship, or even a conference championship. Lynch doesn't have that. Go make that money while you still can.
Agreed with this, but he has to make the 53 man roster to get paid. And he "should"...but there are other guys were drafted in the 4th-6th rounds and now they are practice squad guys and they don't make NFL money.
If he is told that he can get drafted 1-4 rounds, you go and continue to work hard. If he's a tweener...tough call!

How many true freshman were lighting it up this year in college football? How many dropped balls did we have this year?
If we want to get better we need to continue to build depth and that means red-shirting and allowing some of these kids to develop without having to go through the "thrown into the fire" way of doing it.
-
Will be interesting to see where he goes...I'm guessing 4th rd or later.
Showed some flashes, but very undisciplined and raw.

Didn't Coach T say that he was surprised by the lack of existing talent that USF had? If he did say something to that affect, then he didn't show the existing players any respect in saying that, so why should they respect him?
Realistically, when you have a coach change, you are going to have players that don't fit your system. But, I just don't understand why the system is so complicated to learn. Auburn's players seemed to have learned the new system pretty quickly.
He didn't say there was a lack of talent, said the kids on the team weren't recruited for the system he wants to run. The offense we ran with Holtz was a cluster too, it was only good when BJ could scramble.
Once CWT can get some of his kids in here and they can start to implement the O, we will see progress.
-
The guy is building a program and it will take time. Having so many freshman playing this season will help, developing these kids in the weight room and with the playbook will help and getting some more of his first real recruiting class in the program will help.
It was painfully obvious the lack of talent and experience we had this season. This staff will correct things and being a USF fan won't be so hard.

All aboard!
To the start of something better than the last couple years!

FIU and UCONN fall into that same arena like USF right?
