Disagree....he has a great winning drive which I love but let's be honest he does not have the arm to take us to the next level. You didn't see the difference in the WKU QB vs USF QB in throwing capability ?
Brandon Doughty is also a 6th year senior vs Flowers who is a true Sophomore. Doughty pretty much didn't even play until he was a redshirt Junior which was his 4th year in the WKU system. It's hard to compare them at this point in their careers.

Do you have the FSU game?
I'm actually uploading it right now. Started right after the bowl game ended. The McNeese 2006 game took me awhile to get done because I had issues trying to get it off of the VHS tape.

Updated list (listed Chronologically not in upload order):
VS. #9 Louisville Cardinals 2005
NEW VS. McNeese St. Cowboys 2006 - Grothe's first game
VS. FIU Golden Panthers 2006 - Grothe's first start
@ #7 West Virginia Mounatineers 2006
PapaJohns.com Bowl VS. East Carolina Pirates 2006

He may not have been a huge factor in today's game but he did have his 9th 100 yard rushing game this year which is a heck of an accomplishment. Also rushed for 1380 yards this year and that was with missing the SMU game and I think not really being healthy in the Navy game where he only had 10 carries (season low) for 29 yards (season low). I can't wait to see what he can do next year.

I was just saying I think the quality of defenses we faced at the time in the big east was a little better on average than the AAC.
And that's why I am not ready to anoint him the best QB we've had, but he certainly has potential. He could easily be the next Julmiste can run but not throw great and lost his starting job.
-
Hope he gets to play QB. I always hoped he could get a shot to try.

I think the quality of our competition has gone down a little, helping his stats. Not saying he wasn't good this year, but there are some pretty poor defenses in the AAC
Yeah but you can say that about other leagues too like the big 12 padding QB stats. So it's hard to judge.

Bowl game was Flowers worst completion % of the season, it was also the most passes he attempted in a game all season. It was the second most rushing yards he had all season. Saying that though I loved how he didn't throw it to the other team very much all year. I know some luck is involved but he threw for 22 TDs and only 8 INTs this year while rushing for 12 more TDs. Best Grothe ever did passing was 18 TDs and 14 INTs in 2008. Grothe actually threw 14 INTs in all 3 of his full seasons. Most TDs BJ ever threw for was 14 twice. Fewest INTs he ever threw was 7 in 2011 but he only played 11 games that year. So I like what I have seen from Flowers so far with him only being a true Sophomore. Have to see if he continues to develop and take care of the ball.
-
He had a lot of fight and never gave up despite struggling early I'll give him credit for that for sure. A lot of guys might have just totally quit after the early struggles.

Hopefully he will give him a fair shot. We really a qb who is more consistent throwing the ball.
Agreed but I also think Flowers could still develop more as he is only a true Sophomore and he looked night and day better this year than he did as a Freshman last year.

Could always watch some classic games on YouTube in the meantime. I got some more to upload before I take off a bit for Christmas.

How can a stadium with a mutha F'ing retractable roof have such a crappy field????? Players were slipping everywhere not just the cover up sod.
They had all sorts of problems with the grass dying and trying to keep it alive when they first opened the place. Marlins used to play with with dead grass and having to resod all the time.

They need to stop having games in stadiums not designed for football. Play baseball in baseball stadiums and football in football stadiums...seems simple enough.
this. there are plenty of football stadiums around the country they could use, no need to use a baseball stadium for football. Only one I think they keep is the Pinstripe Bowl because they want a game in NYC and there are no football stadiums in NYC.

The problem is there are too many bowls. Get rid of some of the bowls and require teams to be over .500 to get into a Bowl.
If they get rid of some bowls they should start with this one. Horrible tv angles, horrible production, terrible field conditions with sod placed over infield dirt.

Someone on an auburn board is saying he'll be announced this week...don't know how reliable, just passing it on
If that is true maybe he didn't care about planning for this game because he already had a foot out the door. I hope it's not true and that is not the reason though.

The no call on the Adams hit was the worst thing in this whole game. A cheap hit away from the play that took out or best receiver late in the game.

It looks to me like WKU is a pretty good team. They only lost 2 games @Indiana 38-35 and @LSU 48-20. The fewest points they scored all year was 35 in their win vs Florida Atlantic outside of their loss @LSU and their win @Vanderbilt. We managed to score 35 against them which is more than everyone they played except their win @Vanderbilt, their loss @LSU, and their win vs Louisiana Tech who had a high scoring offense with Jeff Driscol.
-
I don't blame the offense. They scored 35 points which would have won every game we played this year but Maryland, who scored exactly 35. This was all on the defense. 45 points was the most we gave up all year and their receivers were running around wide open all game.

I hope Allen wasn't thinking more about Auburn then his game plan for the bowl.

The last time we played WKU was in 2010 after Grothe graduated. The time before that was in 2009 and it was the last complete game Grothe played as he was injured the next game against Charleston Southern.

I have a lot of DVDs from the golden era, I'll look for them and see if I have anything not listed.
With a few exceptions I don't really have anything pre 2006 because I only transferred to USF as a juco grad in 2004. While I was at the school for 2 seasons I didn't really have the ability to record any games so most of my recordings start the season after I graduated which was 2006. Unfortunately my first season was 2004 which was one of our worst, that 2004 Army homecoming game is forever burned in my brain. So if you have anything older than 2006 that would be great.
