AW part 2
oh gosh thats totally what we need.

UCF and USF as a package just seems to make too much sense -- when USF decides that it wants to have awful and mediocre years, UCF is there to pick up the slack. When USF decides it wants to play football again, UCF is there to dig a giant hole, crawl in it, and roll around in broken glass while we all watch on thinking 'Man... UCF... that really looks like an awful idea... why are you doing this? So much blood.... '
I think joining the Big12 would be huge for both schools. It could create an FSU-Miami type rivalry that they have been trying to keep us out of. The conference, money, TV, etc would be huge for the rivalry. We need a 'War on I-4' trophy ASAP.

Really wish we could have that Maryland game back. No excuse.

Any news on our OCS?
-
but if it's about tv Florida is full of Midwestern folks, so we should just go to the B1G. I run into more transplants from Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin; than Texas, Oklahoma, and those other Big 12 states. Our home games would be packed every time.
This is true. If only it made sense geographically and we were AAU members.
-
Then won't Oklahoma bolt?
Unlikely. Oklahoma has a cushy position in the B12 as it is. OU is the prince of the conference. They are the Lannisters to Texas' Baratheon.

if you're an SCar fan, would you be happy or mad if they hired taggart?
Def not excited. He had his best season ever at 8-4...in a G5 conference. Losses to FAU and an FCS school. I know that UF lost to an FCS school and should have lost to FAU, but there is no comparison really. He turned two programs around (although we have only had one good season, we could go 3-9 next year), but that wouldnt be enough to convince me. Especially with the other coaches out there. Taggart is great for USF right now. Going to SCAR would be a huge leap.
Cautious optimism at best.

It is just the doubt that will be placed in the kids heads, recruiting is a cut throat business.
Yeah, but so is coaching and winning games. I am not disagreeing with your premise about doubt in the recruit's heads and such, but I just dont see why that would stop him from interviewing at SCAR. Everyone saw this coming. You think if we win 10 games next year (pls lawd) that he isnt going to do more interviews?
-
No way Ghost, FIU, UCF, FAU, Miami, will all be letting out guys know that CWT wants out.
I see what youre saying, but wanting out is not the same as having a better opportunity, which SCAR 100% is. Any of those coaches, with the exception of maybe Richt at Miami now, would jump ship to SCAR if given the chance.
-
I see your point but coaching is different than other jobs, you can't compare the two. We could write walls of text explaining the differences. Recruiting being primary.
Except all coaches, outside of places like ND, Texas, Florida, USC, Bama, etc do this. Those are the only programs who can figuratively hold this over our heads.

The Parking Gestapo did unmentionable things to poor Mike, really unmentionable.
There is no doubt that we have a Parking Gestapo at USF lol. However, there is no way the school would allow them to ran rampant on game days. Everyone knows the drill. Six Saturdays a year would be revenue free.
-
Just feels like a punch on the gut. Can't blame him, can you. Harlan, the fan base, local media, lots of folks wanted him out a couple of months ago.
this. If you have an opportunity at SCAR, you wouldnt take it? Really? At least interview?
I have no problem welcoming back if he either doesnt get the job or turns it down. Havent you guys ever interviewed somewhere you knew you would turn down if they offered? Either to see what it is like or to create networking opportunities? Better to leave on your own terms than get axed. Take the job at SCAR while you have the chance. We could go 2-10 the next two years, he gets the boot, and that door, along with many others are closed for a long time, if not forever.

Something about an on campus stadium worries the hell out of me
Good bye to tail gate parties, good bye to easy parking, good bye to easy access in and out of the stadium
Tickets, towings, no places to park, congestion, USF can barely pull off a simple graduation ceremony in the Sun Dome. Imagine something 10x the size of that?
Stepps towing will open up their first on-campus impound lot if this goes through
Not sure how tailgate parties will go away?
Parking? Yeah probably.
Never seemed that easy at RJS. When we used to fill up the stadium, getting out took FOREVER. I dont see it being any different on campus. Besides, it is only 6 times a year. Not like it will be a weekly or every day thing. Parking isnt centralized with an OCS, but you can park anywhere. There arent tickets given out. At other campuses, you can park anywhere regardless of sticker (at least all the ones Ive been to). Why would cars get impounded?

Says he is committed to Colorado. I assume we trying to flip him.

To be fair, their rise has also been quite impressive.

I will just cross my fingers that HyperLoop will be completed by then.

I hope they dont expand the playoff. I think 4 is perfect. 6 with 2 BYE teams would be a stretch, but 8+ would just be too much. 2 and 3 loss teams shouldnt be getting a chance against undefeated and 1 loss teams.
I wouldnt mind seeing a G5 playoff. Conference winners + an at-large. Or maybe just the four highest ranked.

I read that as "Do you think we will play Florida?" so I voted no -- oops.
lol. Hey, the way UF has been playing the past few weeks vs the way we have been playing the last few weeks, it could be close. Gators obviously played much higher competition but you never know.

Are Tampa taxpayers paying for this?
If not directly, then indirectly. They always do.
Who wants a big laugh???

True, but Maryland was our only loss to a team under .500.
