I never thought the cupboard was all that bare. Yes, Holtz messed this program's pysche up. But we have had some talented recruits come to USF. The QB situation may look bad now, but I believe Mike White will change all of that next season. Shaw has always been talented, but he just was hurt and not used right by Holtz. Andre Davis is talented too. The talent is there, so I wont say the cupboard is bare.
qb is by far most important position in college football
without a top qb you cant win consistently
Never a fan of agreeing with smazza, but I have to here. We need a quality QB bad. Too bad the ones we have either aren't, or dont have a chance to shine (O-Line + injuries).

So many ties this year have kept the team out of first place...or potentially last place. Not sure yet. Would like to see them brings some 3 pointers home.

No credit for the coach taggart's bus video? Our marketing department isn't completely hopeless
I cringe every time the USF commercial comes on during a game after the other school's. We need a major upgrade.
same. So many positives to highlight, yet I never see them in the commercials.
The music makes it, Glitch Mob is the group. I would use the song "we can make the world stop" it would be perfect song for a hip USF commercial.

lmao if they score here I swear.
-
How many passes are they going to drop?

Of course the one game I go miss and we win. I am now debating going to the UL game lol. I'd rather stay home if it means we win. Ill take a plane ride to forzen tundra Russia if it means we will win.

Will we be ranked on Monday?

It is up to Taggart and the administration to communicate to the students. It is up to them to win and give students a reason to come.
this. The team has to give people a reason to go. Not the other way around.

I see. So how many butts in seats did you guys have for those games.
2005: 45, 139 at Raymond James Stadium
2006: 46,708 at the Citrus Bowl
2007: 65,948 at Ray Jay
2008: 46,805 at Brighthouse Networks Stadium
Attendance numbers actually are pretty close to butts in seats for these games.
This year will be a sellout in Orlando and next year will probably be a minimum of 50k in Tampa.
Thanks for confirming that. I think the person who was saying otherwise was looking at it through his FSU glasses.
He also posted a pic. But its halftime in an NFL stadium.
As you stated, that came during halftime. This shot below was during game action and more representative of the crowd. If memory serves right, it was just the corners that were kind of bare on both sides of the upper deck:

Put a good product on the field, and people will come. Its how it works for everything. Do you continue to eat at a restaurant with crappy food and service because you believe that if you continue to support them, then they will eventually have the funds to provide better food and service and your loyalty will be worth the wait? When it comes to ROI, USF's is in the negative. The ONLY people at these games are die hard fans or those with some free tickets they won in a contest or something. 20k die hard fans is more than I thought we had. I am hopeful for the future.
Ghost, is this in any way related to you not coming to Cantina Laredo Thursday?
Who said I wasn't coming? The wife wont be there.

I agree with all of this... we need to dump Doug and bring in a quality SEC AD who can get this program running right.
Doug is one of the highest paid AD's in all of college sports so why can't we fire him, and then bring in a SEC guy to get this crap done right? We apparetly have the $$ to blow, so why not blow it on some top of the line talent?
I fleered.

I'll have to admit, people did complain about USF being our opener before the game was played
lmaoooooooooooooooooo

Actually it does make a huge difference. Kicking a punt from the end zone is a worse situation than kicking a punt from the 25 yard line. It also puts us in a danger of giving up a safety.
The offense might be a car with four flat tires but it is better to push that car when it is on the road vs. trying to keep the car from falling off a cliff.
I agree with you, in theory. If this were a normal team, I'd be right there with you. However, this offense has shown it is capable of giving up scores on their own or their opponents 20, so I am saying that maybe CWT just says "F it do whatever you can."

That's why USF doesn't keep local talent. USF has waited to get involved with the elite talent when it's relevant. By then, relevant teams are involved and they go elsewhere. Great take.Wake me when it's 2015 and this is relevant.
Just for the record, JTrue is not a recruiter for USF ...
lol beat me to it.

If UCF beats SCAR this weekend they could see a 2007 like start similar to the one we had. Would Penn St or SCAR be their Auburn?
-
Will be able to at least flip between our debacle and watching UCF getting Cockslapped by Clowney and Shaw.
On the bright side, hopefully less time for the Miami bandwagon to get drunk and out of control.
in b4 UCF wins

FAU got the recruits that nobody wanted and still managed to beat us. I don't think the blame should be placed soley on talent.
Exactly. I have a hard time believing we arent more talented than FAU or MSU. We just havent been using that talent properly on offense.

I would call them different skill sets. Maybe similar, but still different. For rush blocking, they are the aggressors. They plow into the DL in order to create a hole. They already have a direction they want to push the line towards before the ball is snapped. For pass block, they are just trying to keep the defense at bay long enough for the QB to release the ball. They are still pushing but it is more to the outside and trying to make the defenseman swim around them. Also, they have to do it without holding or illegal hands to the face. As we have seen, not that easy.

Only two OL on that list. Three if you count Reagan.
After three weeks, I would like to see a few more of those.

hate this combination. As long as we win though whatever.
