    1. This thread should stay on here because is a safety concern for the Bulls' fans who will attend the game.

    2. And I thought I knew everything, like that whole stadium was aluminum and recycled cans. There's rust -I stand corrected!

I think the USF/ucf game should always be played at a neutral site not on either campus in a well built stadium, Raymond James Stadium.

I cannot stand Mike Leach so I'm a happy camper after the demoralizing WSU loss. When he was on Sirius XM College Football he trashed USF back in the major realignment days a few years ago. His teams put up points but don't play D. That said if he gets fired from WSU and there is a HC opening at USF, I'd take him in a heartbeat just to get a copy of his playbook.

I also hate Dabo and his big mouth. So my weekend is off to a tremendous start and I'm going to a Whiskey tasting tonight. If USF wins, I'll drink alot of Whiskey. If they loose, I'll drink more.

What an amazing night of football?! Syracuse beats Clemson then Cal destroys Washington St. I hope USF fairs well against Cincy tonight.

Hate to be a downer, but we wouldn't even pass 10-2 blue blood programs. The only way we would be top 4 is if every blue blood had 3 loses or more. Not gonna happen this year with 11 regular season games and our weak schedule. Hopefully, he pass WSU, but that's not even a given.

Mostly agree but if a lot of upsets happen and we beat ranked UCF and Navy teams I think our chances improve to one in 175M.

This early looks like a weekend rank teams lose alot of games....need to pound cincy who knows could be near 10 in coaches sunday.

FWIW, here are my top 25 upset picks for today:

    1. WVU over #24 TT. I like the Eeers at home in a shootout.

    2. GTech over #11 Miami. Jackets running game so tough, especially if they get a ahead and can control time of possession.

    3. Texas over #12 OU. Just a gut call but I think this is Herman's first big win at UT.

    4. LSU over #10 Auburn. The Tigers looked alot better last week and the game is in death valley. I think Orgeron saves his job with this win.

The NCAA screwed us when they allowed a CCG with less than 12 teams

If B12 had added USF & UCF, based on this weeks polls, they would have SIX teams in the top 25. And not one of those teams is Texas. They would have also added a very large combined TV Market. Then they could have added a CCG and made a ton more on tv advertising. It is what it is, but Texas/B12 made a huge mistake not adding the FL teams. Oh yea and having a better recruiting message for FL kids.CFB Rankings

  7. It's baaaack! There will be lots of speculation on what happens to UofL. B12 already did a study on USF and said no. FL already has two ACC teams but TX has 4 B12 teams and CA has 4 PAC 12 teams. Can I get a slight chance in hell(1%)? UConn will no doubt be putting out a presser soon how they are the best candidate.

They are reporting that people close to Bobby Petrino will leave to find another coaching job in the NCAA.   Louisville U is going to be a mess for a long while.

Bobby always seems to have one foot out the door. The new AD will no doubt want to 'clean things up' for a while. However, the Cards are starving for football success and that's why Bobby was asked to come back. Bobby always wins and unless he screws things up, he will be the coach. This is their best way out of the mess. They will pay him whatever he wants to stay, he has even more leverage. That said, now that the FBI is up the Cards ass they could start looking at all the programs and want to make UofL an example. In that case Bobby will have a job in a week at TN, MS, SC, LSU, etc.Petrino-Back.jpg

Those commentators were throwing so much unnecessary insults at us, not to mention generally unprofessional.

A few instances from memory that we're most asinine:

    1. Repeatedly calling QF a "poor man's Lamar Jackson",
    2. Poking fun at the "4000 fans" in attendance,
    3. Joking that "we won't have any problems with traffic" after the game,
    4. Saying SDSU is a better G5 NY6 team because we have too many penalties - THEY ARE IN THE BOTTOM 10 IN PENALTIES
    5. Suggesting them rooting for Temple after the forced fumble is unprofessional, but proceeded to do it anyway,
    6. Talking about New Orleans food for 10 minutes, for God knows what reason,
    7. Talking about two-stepping repeatedly,
    8. Joey wearing an untucked shirt in a broadcast booth on national TV,

Of course, Booger wins it all when he decided to talk about his hot teacher in 8th grade getting him interested in math because she wore short skirts. And how she's now his kids godmother... While on the subject about teachers not getting enough respect.

Bonus: ESPN deciding it was relevant to show Rutgers storming the field on us in 2007 instead of anything remotely positive from our past.

Frankly, it was kind of amusing, but only because they were such a trainwreck. They deserve to be fired, IMO.

Booger was 'Hot For Teacher' , one of the weirdest things I've ever heard an announcer say. Sounded like he forgot where he was and thought he was talking to his homies after a few brews and a big doobie.

Going into the 4th quarter on the replay, I think that you are way overblown  in your critique. These are two friends who played pro ball in Tampa who are commenting on a blowout at a stadium 5/6 empty and saying things that are truthful. SDSU beat Stanford and AZ. QF. doesn’t read the full field. It’s hard to get into rhythm as a WR with a Mobile QB because you look back and can’t find him, optics aren’t good for USF due to first half sluggish offense and weak schedule, etc..

hard to find rhythm running 25% of your plays up the middle behind a poor offensive line. Q must lead the country in dropped balls, at least two or three a game are perfect strikes, whoever is recruiting and coaching these WRs should be embarrassed, CCS needs to make a change there

The teacher thing was guaranteed offensive to some people. Lack of brain function from Booger is pretty normal though.

The only thing that drove me insane was the good 5 (at least) minutes where the game was just a visual as they talked about other games. Blowout or not the play by play guy should mention the action on the field between their idiotic takes on other games.

How Booger is paid to do his job has been stunning to me since his horrible radio show. He's an uninformed windbag with a fake personality and stupid nickname.

Wasn't Booger hired by ESPiN from the SEC Network? He is actually getting paid more than he was before!

I've learned over my years on this board that many on here want a DPK news media slant towards USF when watching the games.

As far as Galloway's shirt. Wife and Inwere convinced his zipper must have broke

was thinking Joey G. was packing heat and heading to Ybor after the game to work on his two step. he also needs to wear high heals when he's standing next to taller dudes, he makes Charlie Strong look like the Jolly Green Giant

    Records: Illinois 2-0; USF 2-0.

Last meeting: The programs have never met.

    Keys to the game

Will South Florida struggle after a tough week? After Hurricane Irma forced the campus to close and the team to disperse, the Bulls did not practice from Sept. 7 until Tuesday. They had only three days to regroup and prepare for Friday's game at Raymond James Stadium. USF canceled its game last weekend at Connecticut as it braced for the storm. Will the Illini benefit from the Bulls being rusty?

Will Mike Epstein keep it up? The freshman running back from Florida has made a quick impression, leading the Illini with 165 rushing yards and scoring two of their four offensive touchdowns. The Bulls allowed only 100.5 rushing yards per game in their first two.

Can the Illini defense continue to take the ball away? Illinois is tied for 26th nationally with four takeaways (two fumbles, two interceptions). It's a message coach Lovie Smith has preached since arriving on campus. USF senior dual-threat QB Quinton Flowers has thrown four TD passes with one interception.

Shannon Ryan's pick: The Bulls have had a rough week, but they have enough talent to outlast the Illini. South Florida 32, Illinois 17.

If you hadn't seen this, nice to read about Marlon Mack:

    Link

Chuck's paying attention.  That "jumps off the tape/he's popping out there" is what most people saw of Marlon as a freshman.  Just an ability to find the gap and get through it with the afterburners on.

Fantasy football alert, I've seen him going in mock drafts in late rounds. Especially helpful in PPR formats, sounds like he's going to be their 3rd down back in passing situations.

Baylor in hot water again for the same crap. Could this be USF and companies chance to grab a seat at the big boys table? It's sad that this occurred. I'm just curious if it's enough for the Big 12 to finally remove Baylor.

We all wish this would happen but until we can 'move the needle'  for B12 or anybody (win big games, win championships, fill stadiums with fans) its not gonna happen. USF decided way to late in the game to get football and couldn't capitalize on the short time in the BE with limited success.

Those guys were able to blow out teams with their depth.  Leaving your starters in to do it is just bad form.

I get that but a couple points. I assume with QF as a dark horse Heisman candidate he's going to play the majority of the snaps to get his stats up and get more attention. Second, even without seeing the 2017 team play yet, most reports indicate WR is very deep. Also, the coaches have said there is not much drop off in production for QB2/3. Of course that's not live action but this might be the most depth we have ever had on Offense and enough to crush most teams on the schedule in 2017. Improved Defense might also be a  reason to take the pedal off the gas but unless we are winning by 21 with 5 min. left don't get cute and let up.

Iowa state, Baylor, and KState have to see the writing on the wall for the future...not going to be good for them.

WVU can't read the writing on the wall, but they sure as hell aren't a fit in any other conference. 1. Pour gas on couch 2. Light couch on fire 3. Drink moonshine in plastic cup 4. Kiss your relative 5. Repeat until you pass out

If we don't average 50-60 a game and hold our opponents under 20, no one will take us serious this season. We need to go undefeated and put a hurting on every team in our path. Part of me finally liked Willie because he wasn't afraid to run things up (he then ran off - but hey - gotta do whatcha gotta do to get paid). I doubt Charlie Strong will bring that mentality to the table.

Exactly, the Old Ball Coach, Jimmie Johnson, Dennis Erickson, etc. had no problem blowing people out to garner higher rankings to their schools.  Didn't hurt any of them professionally, in fact it helped their careers as being offensive (no pun intended) mind.

Dear Coach Strong, if you want to get a better job, get a raise, salvage your reputation, go out a winner, etc. blow out any team that can't stop your offense.

Flowers will get drafted.  Mark it down.  Looking at rounds 4-7, though.  Heck, he might be one of the best RUNNING BACKS in the draft next year, let alone quarterbacks, should he decide to go that route.

Have read him being compared to Denard Robinson of Michigan coming out of college. Another incredible dual threat QB in college. Denard was drafted in 5th round of 2013 by JAX. He's listed as 6'0", 197lb and running a blistering 4.32. Denard is currently looking for a job. Not sure the Jags new how to use him. I could see QF as a very effective punt/kick returner and slot receiver in the pros. I could also see the Patriots drafting him.
