it sure doesn't.
11-1 is still possible. 12-1 winning the AAC is still possible. 13-1 with a bowl victory is still possible.

edit - remember we looked like dog doo for a year plus until that Syracuse game under Taggart. We very well may flip a switch in the coming games and get things together, and I'd be super happy if we trended upwards all year and continually improved.

I'll take:
Ohio State
Memphis
Georgia Tech
Illinois
ECU
SMU
UCF

I'm not saying I'd prefer 1-3 OOC, but if we went 1-3 OOC and won the conference (which unless bizarro strikes, we'd have to go 7-1 or 8-0 most likely), and then win the champ game. We'd get the division and conference wins, get that conference trophy, and if we're jumped by a MWC team and don't get a flashy bowl, oh well. In the end, no one is going to remember our conference being "down", they will see USF won the AAC. I still think if we go 7-1 and win the division and conference, we can easily go 2-2 OOC and adding the championship game, puts us at 10-3 overall before bowls. I'd be fine with that. At this point, I don't care if we somehow manage 9-4, let's win this conference and shut up some of the naysayers. at least START there. The OOC wins are great, but look where it's gotten us.

Maybe the coaches should use this as a training game. Focus on the areas that this team does that is similar to what we will face in conference teams.
Looking at some of the other teams in the past that have won the conference, the UConns, Cincy's, UCFs of the past, stumbles against OOC while at least being competitive would be fine with me if that meant we win the conference at 7-1 or 8-0 (and win the champ game). Worst we could do is 1-3 OOC (we'll beat SC State), and a conference trophy and any additional OOC wins is icing.

WVU dude is self proclaimed and happened to be semi-correct about some of the alignment in the late 00's, i still don't get why people listen to him. he threw 50 lbs of poo at the wall and some stuck and he thinks he's mr alignment news. now he sits there and speculates captain obvious talking points like he's breaking some sort of top secret news.

looks like we get a 2 for 1 with Miami instead, 2027 in tampa, 2025 and 2028 in miami i think.

BYU being awarded a Natty is total garbage.
Not fair at all to have 26 year old men playing football against 19-year-olds.
You should google Chris Weinke

I'd say in recent memory, UConn comes to mind. They did make it to a Fiesta Bowl, and from there went downhill in football and have yet to recover. Their men's hoops managed to string together a remarkable run in 2014 to win it all and then has mired being so-so for a few years and doesn't seem to carry the clout that being in the Big East used to. Their women's hoops lives in a void (and helps that there's basically like 20-25 schools that are any good and the rest are garbage).
There are fans there that actually want to step back from the American to trade places with someone in the C-USA or MAC or some crazy FCS/Patriot leagues in order to get hoops back into the Big East.
So if you think USF fans have given up, could always be worse.

I'll take a HB dive
If the RB goes 75 yards for a score.

I'd be cool giving King the OC job and let him prove himself on that next level.
The negative nancy in me is anxious for the announcement in the next few weeks that he's accepted an OC job somewhere else for more money.

Only person I saw removed was a female USF fan.
The loud crazy chick in 126?
She was meh for sure and sure had an attitude. The guy w her was super sloppy too and was ranting later on about the team then he went downhill and was in the latter stages of drunkenness

Strong will get mentioned for UL ad nauseum, but won't get rehired there.
Gossip incoming: UL twitter says UL won't hire Strong whom supposedly had an affair with a booster's wife (insert bad taste in the mouth pun here).
Apparently, Petrino didn't sit well in WKU either so don't expect him to go back.
This whole "coaches going back to old jobs" thing is tired. Other than Bill Snyder, it doesn't seem to work for others (Edsall, Petrino).
My take:
Strong will get looks, and he'll stick to the UL rumors because the media just assumes he "did well there" and "UL > USF (it is)". He'll come up for Maryland and possibly Purdue, if Brohm heads to UL. I don't see any SEC jobs opening up this year yet, and I don't think Strong gets strong looks (no pun intended that time) out west or in the Big Ten other than PU. Don't see many jobs in the Big 12 opening up yet either.
I think if Strong leaves, it will be due to the domino effect and a bigger school throws a bag of money at him, my darkhorse would be UNC.

As someone who went almost exclusively to USF Lakeland back in the day, it is par for the course for Polk County, basically being a Gainesville State booster county. The good ole boy system is alive and well, and this was just one of many reasons I got finished with USF-Lakeland and not only moved to Hillsborough at the time, but also got the f out of my job in Bartow. The way Gator boosters talk about USF back then (and probably still do now) was appalling, and they went on surface level, not knowing the great things USF was doing or how many strides they were making academically. They certainly rode on JDA's jock and wanted nothing to do with reasoning about why USF-Lkld was fine as is. I never had a problem in any classes (almost the entire IT Dept was based out of there at the time), and Polk CC/State had a good partnership and the campus was nice - obviously just a typical basic satellite campus.
Lot of people in Polk are blindly UF because UF has its Agriculture all up in there as well as ties with the phosphate industry.

Publix lost a spot with me when they 86'ed their presses and stopped making delicious honey butter smothered pressed Cubans. And they seem to have slowed wayyy down on service, the one up here off 54 rarely even has 2 people working the sub counter during peak times. And their bread doesn't seem to stay as soft or fresh as it used to.
I don't get the Subway hate, some of their stuff sucks, but it's not terrible. Jimmy Johns is the same thing, kinda bland but fast - I just can't keep all the insides from spilling out the back half the time though.
Jersey Mike's is where it's at for me. Firehouse and Quiznos are cool (if you can still find a Quiznos), but some of the Firehouse steamed meats don't agree with me for some reason. But that brisket sub is good enough it took me a few times to realize it was an automatic visit to the men's room a few hours later,
Back on topic, at the very least, I'd kill to have a Publix on campus because being able to walk to get groceries and back to the dorm would've saved me a heck of a lot of money and time back in the day.

I like him, he's pretty well rounded to me on the airwaves, he's jovial, but serious, and level headed and realistic but still a fan. Feel he's always been fond of USF over the years.

I'm sure they can somewhat replicate some of the So Flo stuff.
I really like the baseball jerseys, not sure if Adidas (or USF athletics) are still interested in the So Flo thing.

Hearing Shaun King getting consideration for a position with USF North. Hope he sticks, he has become a real asset to our team!
That's the next thing to worry about. Not that there's a ton of Willie's coaches leftover that are still with Strong's staff, but Taggart coming back and still poaching guys from USF is kinda irky.

I like it, design reminds me of an open ended Baylor stadium. The design to me makes it look bigger I guess because of the double deck tiers, seems like it would hold the sound in decently too, and while I like more enclosed on one end, having the ability of some breezes to blow through is nice on those dumb September nooners we end up with.
I'd agree, 250M isn't bad and it has some suites, but I'd guess there's not much of a club area there and that'll surely miff a lot of our season tix holders who like the a/c and cushy stuff we're used to.

I DVR'ed the game and have yet to watch, I turned it on sometime in Q3 for about 30 seconds and then went to bed (having an infant gave me no time to watch). Doesn't mean it will happen, but crazier things have happened. There was a team last year I think that went 0-6 and then went bowling at 6-6 (was a MAC school I think). And we went 7-0 then 0-6, so turns on a dime do happen, even Dorian managed to plant his foot and RPO the state of FL.
