  1. The crowd at last nights game was the 2nd largest ever for UCF (6K). USF has done well over that numerous times. The largest being 10K against UCONN in 2005.

FYI...USF has had a 10,000 on-campus arena for their basketball program since 1980...as USF has hosted almost 450 games in that building.

Till last fall, UCF only had a 4,500 seat on-campus arena for their basketball program.

Yes, the crowd of 6,695 (closer to 7K than 6K) was the 2nd largest ever for UCF as only a game vs Tulsa last year drew more folks.

NOTE: UCF's game vs Memphis might break the record on Jan 10th...but no clue how UCF will market that game (still can't buy single game tix...as UCF might be putting together a 2-3 game package...but they sure are waiting to the last minute to do so).

This doesn't explain the "passion" from your student section much like seen at the last football game.  Your little koolaid drinkers were all excited over this matchup.

Question, what post season tourney are the Bulls going to, the Big Dance or the Apple one?  I have watched UCF go the big dance 4 times.  Hmmm*

  2. Wow Ucf fans will do anything for attention. It is alot better to be in the discussion than to be somewhere in the bottom of the pack of mediocre football teams. We werent as good as I and many others thought we could have been this year, but there is no problem with that. We don't need to be big 3..We will be another big program..BIG 4..don't have to leave out one of those two when they are clearly top programs and have been for way to many years to throw them out. Ucf on the other hand is an afterthought in college football. FAU and FIU...the talent level is about the same and if you say it isn't your lying. Both those teams would year in and out give you all you can handle.

  3. Winning Conference USA is like winning a teen choice award. WORTHLESS and no one cares to watch it happen

Great, which basement did CJL stuff your old worthless C-USA hoisted trophies? Hmmmmmm.*

We said screw it moved into the Big East house, started getting talent (might want to wikipedia that) and went on to beat some team called ucf 4 times in a row, even the time they won C-usa (by a score of 64-12).

Now we're starting this year to add some trophies, enjoy your paper weight  ;D

So I will stipulate that you won against us if you stipulate that you never have hoisted a conference title? Fair?  ??? ::)

  4. ;D Since our game? ;D

    Just wondering.......

Do you boys have anything at all figured out?

Yes, their is a difference in having a good team and having a good program.  In order to proclaim having a good program you must at least hoist 1 conference trophy before claiming to be part of the big 3.  That is all. ::)

Congrats on being the tallest midget.

Until we all start hoisting trophies and championships we all = FIU/FAU/JU/etc.  Facts are facts and rankings are nothing.  No one remembers them.*

That's funny a lot of the kids we are recruiting seem to almost always bring up our number 2 ranking last year, guess they didn't get the memo.  Also your "hardware" is nothing more than a paper weight, ours should we take care of business actually matters since it would send us to a BCS game.  Have fun rebuilding the mess that you're savior made.

I am sorry, what paperweights did you hoist in your non-BCS days?  ::) ;D

  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Good and fair post until the part about getting in based on football potential.  That isn't true at all, otherwise they would have taken Southern Miss.  It had to do with hoops, plain and simple.  I know CJL has done a great job, no one needs to take offense, but don't tell me the tailwinds weren't at your back.  UCF has always faced gale force winds and luck/fate/fortune hasn't been a factor, plain and simple.  That is what divides us.  If it were football based potential it would have been advantage UCF, no question.  By the way, a few good years for us or you doesn't make a great program. One C-USA title doesn't suddenly transform us into the big 3.  That takes titles and history.

  7. Two words...Steve Sloan

Exactly, that's why I have never held O'Leary accountable for the Titanic disaster whose name is Steve Sloan.  He didn't dream big and therefore mired us into stagnation when we should have been growing faster.  That is who I will soley and squarely blame if we lose on Saturday.  Not O'Leary, not Tribble, not the team, no one but him.  I know enough history to be confident on my position.

Wasn't Sloan's problem that he dreamed too big?  Passed up CUSA waiting for the SEC?

He was an idiot by consensus of the UCF nation.  It wasn't our fault. Nothing was, trust me I have been around a whilel

  8. ahem-- we never played BC-C

    ;)

Things were way different back in the early 80's.  No BCS, etc.  We also didn't luck into the Big East by virtue of having a hoops team.

Huh?  How about the fact we were competing and winning in conferences with many of these guys when you all were DII in the 80's, and very early 90's.  UCF had a head start with a football program but USF had a head start with a well rounded 1-A athletic program.  Bouncing around conferences with brethren the likes of Vtech, UL, Cinci, ECU, and others garnering name recognition and respect among the athletic departments in the East.

What does that have to do with the fact that luckoflakes rather than merit based football achievement landed you in a BCS conference?  I mean ****, Miami of Ohio has been playing football for probably a century and is still waiting.  That's what's so screwed up about D-1 football today, the sheer inequity of it all.

It's only inequity if you're the one being passed up.

If you guys had won ONE meaningful game in your long, sorry history, you might have had a case.  As it is, the Big East laughed at you.

Nothing was handed to our program for free since 1979.  Not luckoflakes, not BCS realignment, not good fortune, not fair weather, nothing. That's why it has been a pleasure to see us go from BBQ fundraisers to BCS facilities and beyond.  We weren't just handed everything on a plater.
