If Calloway makes it back the roster will not show it till camp starts up. Some with freshman.
-
Yes that is correct. The current roster has not been updated since spring practice and we won't see any changes till fall camp begins. Bethel is on team and participated in spring practice. Gibbons retired due to injury but was said to be remining with team in some sort of capacity. Not sure what that means.

@usfootball had some pictures of freshman moving in this past week. I have not heard anything on any of the sites about any non-qualifiers. I was hoping for some transfer news and news on Calloway but i haven't heard anything for a while.

Agreed I think we have a very solid 7 guys with Threatt, Amichia, Hall, Ruff, Galati, Bethel and Atterbury. Beyond that it gets scary.
-
I think if we see a year like 2007 when all the top teams had 2 losses then I think an undefeated usf would finish top 4.

Ant sign of Cameron Campbell?

From all reports I have read that is where Godwin has been getting the majority of his reps. I thought his pass coverage was suspect not his run support.

Great place to visit and a great game. Hard to root against Navy and tough to see us loose to a team that has much less talent. Good turnout from the usf faithful, did see one usf fan escorted out which was disappointing.

According to Joey Knight Mack didn't practice yesterday due to hamstring. CWT says he should be fine.
-
The secondary should be the strongest unit on the defense. A lot of competition at every position, I think all guys in the secondary are CWT guys except for Jalen Spencer but I haven't heard his name in a while. It will be interesting to see who is starting game 1. I think the only guarantees are Byrd and Fullwood.

To bad about Gibbons, I did hear he was injured during spring but thought he would be ready.
-
How did Gibbons look?
-
Agree with Awoleke seeing some time this year, he has good size and looks athletic. I also remember some guys mentioning him during the spring game. I don't think Evan Wilson will be much of a factor at war though.
-
Devin Abraham #20 I think. Pretty sure he played mostly safety last year.
-
Hurts to loose a kid with his talent but I think we will be ok with Robbins, Nichols and Ward. Who else do you guys think will get looks at corner?
-
I think Khalid McGee will be in the two deep at safety and Gibbons will start at one of the tackle spots.
-
Yea I noticed he was still first string. That depth chart has been taken off website and removed from spring guide. Not sure why
-
I don't think it was ever made public why Hill was not here for spring ball and why Nigel Harris was suspended for spring game. I do recall hearing that Kendall Sawer sat out spring to focus on grades. Would be nice to get all 3 back.
-
Agreed, a lot of talent and depth on this d line as well as the secondary. Lots of speed!

Good point Bull Dozer, it appears that Allen's defenses in the past have had guys with similar size. As for Bruce Irvin I do remember the one knock on him was his inability to stop the run but he also played in a 3-3-5 stack so I think he had more responsibility in the run game. I'm sure the staff has some packages with bigger ends to stop the run. Looks
Iike we will have some nice depth on the line this year and hopefully Demetrius Hill makes his way back this summer.

I think this dline is similar to Leavitt years. If you recall Leavitt always had undersized d lines. Selvie played at 230 soaking wet.
I don't think we should be counting on Thor since he was recovering all spring he shouldn't be listed on the depth chart at all. Also, I don't understand the whole bull position at all, Josh Black is quick but he's not going to be shedding any UCF lineman anytime soon and he'll get ran over. We need to go to a balanced attack like we had with Selvie and JPP, why do we have to be cute with our defensive lineman since Leavitt left?? Put the best combo of strength size and speed at end position and let them play every down. IMO that would be Eric Lee on one End and Bronson on the other. Have Awoleke back up Bronson and have Love backup Lee. Obviously DT should be Senat and Calloway just about every down if possible.
My thoughts on QB are this. Let the QB make mistakes as long as he's trying to score TDs. This kinda falls on Taggart's shoulders with managing risks with the QB's, but If we happen to throw interceptions I think the strength of the team which is the defense will prevail and either get the ball back or hold the other team to a FG. This was how we made bowl games consistently in the past. Playing keep away and scoring field goals hasn't worked and we look weak. It didn't work in either of the two past spring games either. Let Bench lead the team, let him take the chances he likes to take. But if you are going to go with Flowers just stick with him dear God and let him take chances too.

That's a real disgrace considering the issues we have with getting people in the stadium in the first place. I would quit.

I think Ivy still has to finish a class so I'm sure it's not a definite he makes it.
