  1. Rutgers 2007. easily.

we got hosed with that "forward propulsion of the ball" call on Jenk, who was clearly just trying to scoop an oblong ball on a chaotic scramble play. called back the defensive TD and absolutely f'd our program.

i dont consider that that the death of USF (The Holtz New Error did that), but looking back if there were ever a single game-- or call-- that put the skids on USF's historic meteoric rise to legit BCS caliber program, that was it. the precipitation back to an "under the radar" team kinda starts there for me, despite some very big wins for the program after that (FSU, ND, Kansas, Miami)

  2. NFL until the SuperBowl, then the end of the NCAA basketball season + March Madness, then NBA & a lil bit of Bruins hockey. after the NBA Finals it gets real dry for me.

the World Cup will be awesome this coming June & July. help occupy the time. Peru made it for the first time in 36 years. league futbol doesnt really get me that excited, but i love international matches, Copa América, Copa de Oro... im a big CONMEBOL guy with a little bit of CONCACAF as well.

there's always some sporting event... if all else fails i'll watch Boxing, UFC, etc.

  3. would love more than anything for him to come back but aside from adding to his career stats, is a brand new QB going to make him look better next year than he did this year?

these guys only have a certain number of hits their brains & bodies can take. if he has a shot at the draft cant blame him for taking it.

i saw AJax, Taurus, Mitchell, Hester's catch in person... Tyre dragging dude for 20 yards & a TD is up there with Jesse's catch in OT. i'll remember those catches forever.

He's been gone for some time.  Seems this sort of complaint would have surfaced earlier.

i don't disagree... but he addressed that to a degree in his tweets. sometimes it just takes the proper venue or circumstances for someone to speak out.

im not going to pass judgment on this story alone... i just hope MORE stories like it dont start trickling out. USF doesnt need ANY kind of stories like this as we continue building our identity.

Yeah, so far credibility alone won't hold up these allegations.  Go to court Noriega.  Twitter is the medium for all sorts of unsubstantiated claims.  You should be able to do better.

not everything is about courts. OJ was found "not guilty" but we all know public perception about it is far different... & public perception is critical for athletics programs still working to establish an identity.

while ONE player coming out with a story like this probably won't affect much, if MORE stories start trickling out it can & will hurt a lesser known program like USF regardless of whether they are litigated or not.

& im not convinced court rulings should dictate the standards & expectations we have of our coaches & staff. whether something is LEGAL or not shouldn't be the minimum expectation, our standards should be higher than that. IMO, once a story like this goes to court it's already too late because the negative publicity can hurt the program long before a ruling is issued & regardless of whether the ruling is in the University's favor or not.

we're not Bama, Clemson, FSU or Duke, UNC, Kentucky, etc... USF's name doesn't carry the weight to survive more than a couple stories like this without sustaining damage.

  6. wow. disheartening & infuriating if true.

as long as we as fans have been around (it feels like forever), our programs are still very young & building tradition... we do NOT need former players from our athletic programs leaving the University with horror stories like this.

big name schools will be given the benefit of the doubt by recruits & have the media run interference for them in order to preserve the value of their investment in TV broadcasting rights for their games, but USF doesn't have the luxury of either.

  7. obviously there are a lot of teams we've never played in FOOTBALL that a lot of us would like to get on the schedule, and there are some teams (e.g. Texas) that we haven't played yet that are on future schedules...

the question for this thread is OF THE TEAMS WE'VE PLAYED that AREN'T on future schedules, who would u like to see us play again?

for me i'd really like another shot at Oregon, not just to tie up the 0-1 record, but to thrash xCWT & xCJL and show the CFB world how far we've come. i was at the SunBowl and that loss was a very sad nightmare ending to the season that started out as a dream.

i also think Florida owes us a home game, preferably at a future OCS rather than RayJay.

    thoughts?

Still need to face North Carolina again.

would be a solid OOC matchup given our relatively weak non-conference schedule next season.

would gladly trade them for SJSU or Stony Brook (or UMass, although i'm from Mass. and have family that are Amherst alum so i'm kinda happy to have them on the schedule as a cupcake)...

but we are 2-0 all time vs. North Carolina so there's not much to prove there.

  9. Not sure, but if I were UCF and if someone walked out on the field with a shovel and planted it in my logo, I think I would be pissed...

i'm pretty sure the intention was to piss them off.

kinda like a final "F-- you and good day" from USF to the UCiFers.
