I was under the impression that the only way to buy tickets from USF for the FSU game was if you were a season ticket holder. When I called, they told me to go through the FSU ticket website.

Season ticket members were not the only group able to purchase away game tickets. All Bulls Club members at the Herd ($100) level or above also have the ability to purchase the away game tickets.

I know it's not your decision John... but that's bad policy considering the state of the program.

  2. Wow. I don't know the numbers, but I'd guess we didn't have much fewer than that at Michigan State or Wisconsin. I am considerably disappointed in our fan base for not remaining dedicated to supporting the team in person for an in-state road trip game. This will be a significant blow to our opportunities to sign home-and-home series with P5 opponents, considering it is already clearly becoming more difficult to do so. Such poor fan travel/ticket sales is not looked favorably upon.

    1. It's an 11:30am game in 90+ degree weather and full sunshine.... if that's your cup of tea then good luck to you. I'll be in my house with the AC... cheap food... and my HDTV. I'm not paying good money for gas, lodging and tickets to see USF get beat down... and that's what going to happen. In 2009 we were a much better team... this time not so much.

    2. The P5 question is irrelevant. FSU has already stated that this will be the last home and home they sign with us. Other P5 conferences are starting to set rules where their OOC games have to be against other P5 schools. There are enough Virginias, Vanderbilts and Washington States in the P5 conferences for them to not have to schedule any G5 teams.

  3. Not sure if this has already been discussed on here, but feel free to remove this thread if so. I like that the band is in the student section now, however, I thought it was dumb that the band was in the center of the student section right between the field goal posts. I just kept thinking to myself, what happens if late in a game or in OT the opposing team is driving into the student section. They line up for a game tying or winning FG and all their kicker sees is a quiet band right between the goal posts since the band can't play once play starts or is about to start, and how not intimidating that would be. I think you'd want some rabid fans between the uprights cheering and screening loud as can be to hopefully distract the kicker and throw him off. And even worse, if our opponent was driving that way before halftime... the band is out of those seats and lining up to perform, so the kicker's staring right into empty seats. I'd be thanking USF for that. Thoughts???

FSU's band sits in the same section in Doak.... it hasn't seemed to bother them.

It will probably disappoint the QB narrative that has been established around here... but after the first day Flowers is a completely different guy from last season and got even better than he was in the spring.  From all the reports I've hear... that kid was flipping it around today.  Showing he could both run and pass.  He had a couple of drops but looked like the starter.  I'd suspect by next week we'll have our named starter.  Bench looked a bit rusty and threw an int...  about what I expected from both.

Did you witness any of this or is this assessment based solely on "the reports you hear"? Just wondering.

Legit question. Makes some bold statements and qualifies it with "based on reports" he heard. It would be more impactful for me if he saw this firsthand as opposed to re typing somebody else's opinion.

It was a geographic  due to his user name...

Oyster Catchers at the Hyatt on Sunday's....that was the good ole days

I didn't usually have the cash for that back in the day. Did you ever hit Biarritz on US 19 on Sunday night? Worth the ride.
Don't think we ever did Barritz but we would always stop at Fraternity House for wings on the way back from the beach on Sunday's.

Yup. Remember the frat house. You must have hung out in front of holiday inn (now Hilton) surf side when you did the beach. Don't know if that's still the USF beach hangout, but it was back then. Wow, we really derailed this thread.

    o

Holiday Inn surfside was the only place anyone went. Sometimes we'd end up at Tanga on the way back and get shandys from the nasty chicks working the end of the day shift.

You should get HOF status just for mentioning the Tanga.... holy cow I'd forgotten that cesspool existed.

I've made no decision. I don't know what's going on.

What I've learned over time is, don't say ANYTHING to ANYBODY unless you don't mind it being repeated.

Kid's an attention-seeking diva. He's not good enough to command such attention

^^^^  This... the kid's head is still as big as it was when he came out of HS... and the talent level is very questionable... just one year playing any football in HS.

You're welcome .... and I finally saw a depiction of what could be going downtown and had no idea it was that extensive. Hopefully there's some public parking garages to be added because it looked like it was taking up a nice chunk of parking for Amalie.

"The USF facility would be flanked by a private medical tower and a 1,800-space parking garage and is seen as a focus of Vinik’s $1 billion redevelopment of downtown Tampa."

But would that be parking strictly for the medical facilities, though ...?

    No.

Multiple garages are in the plans.
