How do we get the message out? Obviously empty seats aren’t the answer. Venting on social media doesn’t seem to be the answer.
Serious question, what’s next?
And no, I’m not bailing.
I suspect empty seats will eventually send the message. We’re going to be in a situation where playing at Corbett is viable by next season if we don’t win some games.
I’m not exaggerating when I say I cannot find anyone to get USF tickets with. It’s going to be ugly.
USF can choose to blame that on fans/donors etc… or they can own their failures.
Good news is that I think we’re going to find out their direction over the next few months.

IMO, USF is going to wait for the B12 news to become official.
Once it does, expect them to release a statement say that they're committed to top tier athletics and that they'll do everything it takes to get positioned for the next round.
Absent clarifying "what it takes"... it's smoke and mirrors to me.

what?
There won't be anyone at these games. There won't be lines for ANYTHING.

Just as long as it’s not a peace of crap rust bucket. I don’t care if it’s $200millions.
This was our failure all along. The quality of it almost doesn’t matter. They built it and people came.
UCF does not have a world class stadium. But their game day environment is FUN for all. Kids, parents, donors, students.

That sounds hard but if you just give $100 more a month that will somehow miracle itself into being the first impactful dollars, ignore the other money you gave or have given because no one can manage to win a single game with that
Yeah I’m not doing that

USF admin needs to accept that the UCF model worked. They went with a “build it and they will come” model and combined that with loud ADs / coaches. They kept UCF in the news (good or bad) and built their brand. Proclaiming that they won a national championship was a marketing masterclass. It was comical but everyone in the entire country recognized UCF after that. Everyone.
USF blew it in a major way and now they have to take UCFs playbook and execute.
Build the facilities needed to compete. Create a real college football experience on campus. Invest in marketing. Engage the media.

Apparently coaches decision. Not sure the coach meant for him to take his pads off and leave.

Should be interesting to see what happened.
Looks like he took off his pads and went to the locker room solo.

I think your bitterness with the loss and your dashed hopes for a rapid turnaround have you in the dumps, and I don't blame you one bit. My heart feels trampled on every time USF loses. But I honestly believe I saw steps in the right direction in many small ways. The type of steps we have been lacking in for years. Despite the bad loss, there was greatly improved discipline. There was grit and mettle despite overwhelming odds. There were signals for the right kind of character, instead of the opposite we have had through 2 sets of coaching staffs. It was there to see, if you were looking for it, but I don't blame you for feeling terribly after that loss as a USF fan.
Props to you for trying to see positives.
I had very low expectations for this season... despite that I’m still shocked at how small our team looked/played. I’d still grade the coaches pretty poorly today. Didn’t do enough to account for the mismatches.

There’s no talent on the team. Not sure there’s anything the coaches can do.

We look like we’re playing a back yard pick up game. Our QBs are terrible.
Overall the team looks small, slow, soft, unprepared etc.

We aren’t barely competitive...
We’re literally not competitive.

This is where I was at coming into the search. However, there's chatter the Clemson guys aren't interested/are connected to better jobs, Spurrier is just trying to to set up Jr who isn't proven enough to be a HC, Drinkwitz is in play for 2 SEC Jobs, Napier hasn't been connected at all, Bell is a non-starter, Larry Scott is a Meh hire to me, CWT wants the job job but the feeling isn't mutual, and what's left is CJL. From the options that I can divine that are left CJL is the best option.
If the Clemson guys are out... I’d prefer Leavitt over Scott

Appears to have worked and looks like your fate may now be in the hands of the BOT ....
So I didn’t think about the BOT...
How many are still onboard from the Leavitt era?

If Leavitt comes back it would be great to see Grothe and some of the other OG’s on the staff in some capacity.
Why would it be great to see Grothe on staff? Is there any evidence at all that he's a good football coach?

There's probably still diligence that needs to be done... if the Clemson guys won't talk until after they're done... who knows how long it might be.
If CJL was the #1 choice and he wanted to come here... i'd probably be done by now, no?

not a good thread title

He's who I want too but his name has been linked to the Dallas Cowboys of all places. That kind of chatter leads me to believe he's eyeing jobs above our "tier"
He probably is -- i doubt we land him

Such an embarrassing move… That locker room remodel cost $3m!?
