  1. According to this article about Willie it sounds like if he loses to Syracuse he will be fired after that game. He also points out that Taggart better open up his playbook and call slants, hooks, hooks and ladders, and any type of passing play to save his job.

Will you raise your head from your hand when the axe finally falls?

  2. I admit I'm naturally optimistic so I always look for the positive. I'm starting to think that I can't get my Bulls news here. People are just too negative. The announcer said it best, we are on the right track, we're just a couple steps behind Memphis and having their type of transition. Paraphrasing of course, but I believe it.

I, like you all, have watched this team for years. I started at USF in 2006.I know how "good" we were and I have seen us fall from grace. I can see a true difference in this team and I believe CWT and company are doing the right thing by us. Losing sucks for EVERYONE, especially the student athletes who are working their tales off, but if they can fight and believe why can't you?

This coach put his reputation on the line to take over a dumpster fire. He's not perfect and neither are we, but saying and believing that he's inept and doing anything less than his best with this program is ridiculous. That was the most complete game I've seen from this team in a while. Losing hurts, but if we continue to grow like we are we are going to give lesser teams fits.

Memphis only scored 24 points... That's amazing. QFs can throw the ball like "we all" hoped he could. He's becoming a great leader and I hate the result but I thank God for the process. People said we were spoiled in the past and every time I come here I can see why. We rose faster than we deserved and can't handle the growing pains. We want to fire and replace everyone for every minor offence...

I'm proud of my Bulls and their progress. I hope some of you can get past the anger in your heart and see the growth. If you can't, watch any game after BJ Daniels went down. Watch any game from 2 years ago... Watch the UCF game last year and tell me you don't see the change.

Go ahead and hate I'm taking a break from here anyways. Go Bulls!!!

Sad to see you go but Fan Forums aren't always about cheerleading.  Maybe you can go to the HOT forum and talk about trombones and such.  You won't find a positive message about USF football ANYWHERE on the interwebs, because there's nothing positive to speak about.  Good bye and good luck.

  3. We know USF is not going to fire CWT mid-season. Ain't gonna happen. And we've got $1.99 left. Half of it is going to Woolard and Holtz.

Stick with QF: 10-17 pts per game is all you're gonna get. I said this before the seasons stared. The D can't keep people down all game.

Go with Bench and revamp everything. Protect him and put in some passing plays.

If nothing changes, this team will duplicate last year's record or worse.

You know less than nothing.  CWT will be fired very, very soon.

  4. how can you make an arument that cwt should stay beyond this year?

cwt brings no life to the program

come to think of it he brings nothing to the program

He'd make a hell of a Recruiting Coordinator, other than that skill (and is it really his skill or that of assistants?) he brings less than zero to the table.  He's as horrible as Doug Woolard was at being an AD.  Time for him to get his walking papers.

  5. What a train wreck our football program has been...so disappointing.  So promising with recruiting, but on the field decision making has been really bad.  I am so afraid that after he is fired, we will be viewed as the cemetery for up and coming coaches.  We need a solid head coach.  All the money we have been paying for coaching mistakes could have been spent upfront on bringing in a really solid head coach.  Hindsight is 20/20, but from a fan's perspective it has been a misery.

Geez, don't be so over dramatic.  We've had a total of three coaches, one highly successful in building a program from nothing that was fired by an AD who was horrible for our University, one fired after receiving a generous extension because said AD had to backtrack on his self-dealing extension of the coach, and now a HC who simply is not up to the task of being an FBS head coach who was hired by the same horrible AD as a way to show a savings from the firing of coach #2.  Woolard was the architect of all the bad things that have happened to USF football and we just need to bury his last poor decision of hiring Willie Taggart and we'll be fine.

  6. As a Memphis area native....  someone bring me Rendezvous Ribs.....

    I like Corky's more!!

We tried The BBQ Shop (or something close to that) in midtown last year.  Recommended by the people at Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken.  If there is better BBQ than that I'd be surprised.

Come on Ricky, a Bar-B-Q joint that has barbecue spaghetti, that just ain't right.  Rendezvous is alright, but that's ribs with greek seasoning cooked over coals and mopped with nearly straight vinegar. I pass on both. Actually, Leonard's Pit BBQ is pretty darn good too.  Once a place has been established for long, Memphis natives tend to discount them and go for the newest joint.

  7. ^ BuI have no, even the bestare mparison is not great becausit's  SB came in later in the game when their D wasn't fresh. Aww, what am I doing? Nevermind, I don't really care who starts/plays as long as they show us some solid play. It's a lot to hope for at this point.

I half agree with you. I don't care because no part of me believes that if SB was starting we'd have a better record. I do believe SB is a better throwing QB. But I also am pretty thoroughly convinced that the difference between SB and QF is MAYBE 50-100 yards of passing a game. We aren't 1-2 because of that difference.

You could be right or he could do a little better but unless he gets a shot we wont know. Are you willing to see more of QF when you have a QB that is might be able to win us games?

Heck I am hoping that QF does well against Memphis b/c it's clear CWT wants him to succeed and so far is willing to bet his career and the future of USF on it.

I thought I was pretty clear that I don't think SB will be able to win us any more games. I do not believe that difference between the two QBs is enough to make any tangible difference. So...I do not care who starts. So, to specifically answer your question so there isn't any confusion.

Are you willing to see more of QF when you have a QB that is might be able to win us games? Yes, I am. I do not care. SB is ******. QF is shittier. We have a ****** offense. We have a ****** offensive coordinator who has the title of head coach. That isn't going to change. I do not think that with SB at the helm, CWT will be able to turn around the offense. I do not think that SB would make a difference even if the offense was tailored to his marginal strength in the throwing the ball category.

So I have not given up on the team yet, and would like to exhaust all options before I get to the point you are at...

  8. I never bet against the Bulls... Prolly because I'm just a homer.  It would be awesome if we can find a way to win the game.  I also would love to see the chaos a win like that would subject this board to.

I've bet plenty of times with the Bulls and have lost probably $15K over the years.  I haven't bet with or for them in the last 6 years and I'm a much better man because of it.

  9. JIm Leavitt would most certainly take the job, if offered for the right money, and he would have UCF taking down P5 schools regularly with Florida talent.  He would be laughing all the way to his bank. He would have UCF turned around in 12 months, not the 10 years it took him working for chump change out of trailers at USF.

Again, fat chance. He still cares for USF, even if he's moved on. Besides, UCF wouldn't be able to pay him what he's worth with the dumpster fire GOL is going to leave in the coaching position. More likely he heads back to K-State where he has ties to Snyder and the administration there, or another Big 12 school. UCF fans are as fairweather as USF fans are-and while we've imploded, they busted even faster. They were struggling with attendance coming off a Fiesta Bowl season, and you seriously think they're going to show up now that they're 0-4 with losses to the likes of FIU and Furman? GOL also still happens to have two years left on his contract that he signed after the Fiesta Bowl win. UCF is headed for a fast crash.

He doesn't care that much for USF, they treated him like dog dung.  Like I said, for the right money and with no other compelling offers, he absolutely would take the job and break it off in USFs ass all with a smile on his face, and rightfully so.
