A simple "You're right" would have sufficed there.

You're wrong, Mr. two or four seater. Money greases the skids to move things that otherwise won't move because I have eight seats that I want to begin in an aisle.  I'm tired of having to explain things to someone as thick and dense as you appear to be.  Now run along and browbeat others with your stupidity.

This isn't my opinion. Your statement, "upped my donor level to get at the 50 yd line" is totally uninformed. Seat locations are no longer tied to donor levels. You can get those 8 50 yd line seats and pay no more than $3200 in donations, which is the Silver Bull level. If you were already above that level, you didn't have to "up" anything to get those seats .... and this is just a PSA to make sure people reading this understand how this thing works now, which you apparently don't.

You still fail to listen to what anyone says as you're stuck in the mud of your own arrogance and ignorance.  I would just prefer that you stay away from and stop responding to what little I post anymore on this site.  Your constant stalking of my posts makes you appear unstable...........you might need professional help.

You must have your wife or secretary take care of this stuff for you because you appear to be clueless as to the way the football season tix work now ...

Nope, when you want eight tickets in a row with the end being the start, you've got to sometimes take seat locations you might not necessarily prefer.  You also sometimes want to stay in the same location because you know all the people around you.  Last season (not as much) and the season before, it was like a ghost town around my seats. I hung up in the club section for a long time even though I could have relocated because I liked the people around me.

But you seem to think you know every machination and iteration of everyone's decisions and what they actually contribute.  Your arrogance is preceded only by your ignorance in the assumption that you know all.  You're a bad Great Carnac because there is no humor to counter the ridiculousness of your poorly founded opinions.

College tickets are different, and here is why:

Joe Smith owns a small business and wants 4 Rays tickets and 4 Bulls tickets. Mostly for him and his family, but when he can't make a game, he plans to give the tickets to his employees or clients.

For the Rays, put those tickets in the company name, so they can be written off as a business expense.

The USF tickets require a $150 donation per seat, so $600 total. So, the USF tickets include a tax deduction for Joe to put the tickets in his own name.

1 guy, buying tickets from two teams might be motivated to put the Rays tickets in his company name and the USF tickets in his personal name.

That is why you can't compare our percent to the Rays.

My USF donation is corporate and tickets are in the corporations name. Can't agree with your take above.

Nah, it's really simply an echo chamber of "Willie may not be the anti-Christ and things are looking better now than they did a year ago" .... And look at you with 2 upvotes. Hb and the Sheriff have apparently found out what those buttons are for.

Lurking and stalking.........I'm unsurprised that TB continues to make this a personal war.  A lack of couth is not a positive trait TB and you seem to want to direct vitriol in my direction at any and all opportunities. I worry for your health and well-being and hope you'll try and be a little more even handed and less harpy than in years past.  It will benefit you immensely.

Good day and good health to you in the New Year and beyond!!

Those who were unwavering in support of Taggart (I don't include myself in this group, I wavered) were absolutely redeemed this year.  There is no need for "Taggart fans" to scramble at all.  Sorry to break it to you but he's our coach for the foreseeable future.

Does this experience include your certainty just a few short months ago that Taggart would be fired this year?  And I'm very proud of you for moving from absolute statements regarding Taggart's future to predictions.  That's definitely a sign of returning rationality on your part and should be commended.

When that prediction was provided, he absolutely....positively, had one foot out the door.  You can believe me or not, but those are facts.  He finished the regular season on a positive trend and then the defense and offense devolved into the same sand-lot game we saw at the beginning of the season in their bowl game.  I was there and watched the whole thing unfold.

With that said, we certainly have more indications, through recent history, that the glowing results some of you expect may not come.  Does that mean I want him to fail, HELL NO, I am a USF Bull first and foremost, but that also means I value the university, its students, its alumni, the donors, and even the fans well above highly paid coaches and administrators!!  I hope he succeeds (and touches the moon...not literally chaps) so that no one can second guess Harlan's decision (yeah, that includes me too!!) to extend Willie while he had two full years on the current contract.

We may disagree on the best path forward but I do believe we all have the best interests of USF and USF Athletics when we discuss things on this board.

You left out this one ... "I'm leaning more that it was better for Coach Taggart to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."

Not sure how anyone can misinterpret any of those comments ...

I've said it before, some here just don't want CWT as coach no matter what but the relative success he had last year has them scrambling for something to dog him about. This show was a nice filler until March, when the whining will commence after AW isn't proclaimed the season starter at the end of the first Spring practice ...

And when next season happens, I assume you believe that the Taggart fans will be doing no scrambling? I hope your prognostication abilities are spot on but I can tell you from experience that NO ONE knows how next season will shake out.  My prediction, which should be weighted just as heavily as the Taggart fans, is that it will look similar to Willie's 2nd year and not his 3rd.

  8. Oh please, that's not personal. I don't even know you. All I'm responding to is an online presence who has been, for the most part, one of the biggest ***** on this board for years and understand that CWT's recent success is probably gnawing at your insides like a 50lb tapeworm and that post was a perfect example. Maybe you'll get lucky and he crashes and burns in the bowl and/or next season.

And again, taking it to a personal level.  Keep up your great moderating.........you're doing such an outstanding job drawing USF athletic fans to TBP :roflmao:

  9. I just don't get how your thinking process works.  How can you possibly think if he stays at USF his "payday" is waiting for him next year?  The USCe coaching job is a $4million per year job.  USF will not be able to pay CWT 4x what we pay him now.

SC WILL NOT pay Willie Taggart $4M to coach.   I guess he didn't like being held accountable for W-L record but that won't change at his next job either.  Kind of funny that his first signs of success he starts interviewing for positions elsewhere.  Please leave Willie, if you want to go.

  10. I'm just curious as to what would make Quinton Flowers the greatest USF quarterback so far in our short history? He's breaking and setting records left and right. He's put us in position for our first conference championship game and he carries this team. I supported him from the get go but I don't believe anyone aside from Taggart seen this coming. What are your thoughts?

QF has definitely turned the corner and I for one will say I am happy to see him succeed at QB.  He seems to protect against turnovers more than any QB since Grothe.  I think Blackwell (my personal favorite), Grothe, and Daniels lead him in the "greatness" category but only because they had a full four years at the helm.  As long as he stays healthy and their remains consistency in the offense, I don't see any reason he won't surpass all those listed above.

  11. yeah I remember the days when they showed 2 games all weekend long. no thanks. I like being able to watch all the USF away games thanks in large part to espn

At some point, hopefully, we can purchase a package of away games and not have to pay ESPN for the constant PC content month after month.  The loss of subscribers is due to people dumping cable for online entertainment sources but hopefully cable companies will start individual channel subscriptions versus the packages they have now.  I like watching USF away games at LeeRoy Selmon's or Beef's anyway, so I would gladly dump ESPN but right now they are packaged with other channels that the family likes.

  12. ESPN Has Lost 7 Million Subscribers The Past Two Years

    http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/outkick-the-coverage/espn-has-lost-7-million-subscribers-the-past-two-years-112515

According to a 10K filing from Disney today, which you can read here, ESPN now has 92 million subscribers. That's a troubling number because just two years ago ESPN reported it had 99 million subscribers in the same 10k filing. The last time ESPN had 92 million subscribers was 2006, so the past two years have erased the previous seven years of subscriber growth. These filings are important because it's the first public acknowledgement of ESPN's massive subscriber losses. Given that the average ESPN subscriber pays $6.61 a channel per month, this means that ESPN has lost somewhere in the neighborhood of $550 million in subscriber revenue per year since 2013.

Couldn't happen to a more worthless organization.  Once they have separate channel subscriptions from cable providers versus the prepackaged channel groups, ESPN will lose many, many more subscribers.

  13. It wasn't that tough. He is a very good recruiter. Everyone could see that. He was also willing to change things that weren't working as was evidenced by retooling his offense and changing coaches that didn't work. I said myself that i thought he was too conservative in his play calling and that seems to have changed now too. Rebuilds take time.

My point was that there are people on here that will never give any credit to Taggart. They are happy we are winning but they try to convince themselves that it is in spite of him not because of him.

  14. I don't like the term "haters", though I know it's all the rage. But prior to Syracuse, it was tough to see the coaching acumen needed to turn us around.  I was at the Cuse game, and was giddy...not just with the outcome, but because we were fun to watch for the first time in many years.

Again, I don't think Taggart became a genius in a day, but he's in control of the team, and lives & dies by the results...so he has to get credit.  He also clearly connects with the players, and everyone has now bought it.  Taggart also sent a clear message when 3 players broke rules and are off the team, likely permanently...severe violations won't be tolerated.

Frankly, I'm thrilled we're even having this small debate as to WHY we're 7-4.  Very few expected 8 wins this year.  Very few.  Would be interesting to revisit pre-season predictions.

Most of all...let's enjoy today, which hopefully includes starting a new win streak v UCF, and maybe some more records falling (Adams is clearly within striking range of breaking Davis's season yardage record; Mack needs 203 to break Andre Hall's record).

    Good times!

    Hear hear!!!
