And that isn't counting those from Orlando that may have gone to a smaller school but still identify with UCF.
This person you describe doesn't exist

I wonder why ND would want that?
Also, that's an added revenue stream for ND. A rather large added revenue stream.

Where's the Robles crowd?! We need to get some insanity in this debate.

Should have kept Heath
Word on the street is that Egbunu was gone either way

What does being a travel partner or rivalry have to do with them being in the same conference?
I think you completely missed my point
Travel partner has very little to do with Football. Football is revenue generating and there are only a handful of conference road games.
The travel issues is a little dicier for basketball, but manageable. It's when the soccer, softball, baseball, track, cross country, tennis, and golf teams have to travel for conference games it gets bad. Some of the schools, Baylor and Texas Tech in particular, are in the middle of ******* nowhere. There may not be more than a single direct flight from Tampa to any of those schools. So that's tons of travel time. Having a travel partner would be a nice benefit (ask WVU).

raise property taxes and eminent domain the entire area. Problem solved
If I ever get the opportunity, I plan to start buying property in the area to begin the gentrification process myself.

I am sure the USF players are happy they will not be at the Cure Bowl.

The Cure bowl might have crappy gifts, but Miami isn't far ahead

Ah c'mon man. I was waiting for them to catch onto it.
Since the University of South Florida is located in West Central Florida, I don't think many of us will be taking you to task on university name vs location.

For the love of Pete they are CUSA not Sunbelt
Honest mistake. The American is basically CUSA 2.0 and CUSA is basically Sun Belt 2.0

WKU fans are still on their board(s) upset they aren't playing a P5 team and had to settle for nobody USF.
They are in the exact same vein as us.
This is a game that they probably have an equal chance at winning or losing. The opponent is pretty good, but JQP will immediately write off a win as, “Obviously you won you played an overrated opponent.” Beating 6-6 Auburn would be more respected than beating 11-2 (!) WKU or 8-4 USF. It is what it is. The truth is this should be a pretty good game between evenly matched teams.
Hopefully we avoid the tirades from people lambasting the extension because we lost to “some terrible” Sun Belt team. WKU is a good team. The same people will also join the public narrative and give USF no credit because WKU is and “overrated” Sun Belt team. It’s a lose-lose situation all around. Hopefully we win-lose-lose, though.

I would be fine with Harlan giving him a raise tomorrow if Willie offered to refund a portion of his original deal based on the body of work from his first two seasons. Seems like a fair compromise.
You do realize that was all on Skip Holtz and not Taggart, right? Skip and Woolard should be the ones to handing money back to the University. Nobody was going to win in year 1. Could someone have done better in year 2? Sure maybe, but we're here in year 3 at 8-4 from nothing and you're complaining?
-
Has there been a serious run at him by a P5 that I'm not aware of??
No, we was mentioned off the cuff in one article about Missouri. Tags is not going there.
-
Didn't one of the AAC teams, who we beat, play UF close this year?
Well, ECU played them. They scored a late TD to make it look sort of close, but I wouldn't really call it that close a game.
-
We don't have to pay him that this year, but I could see him getting a good jump to maybe $1.7-2M this year and a big assistant pool bump. Then he needs to win the division next year and we'll see what happens.
-
Pay him $3 million a season like Houston is trying with Tom Herman and maybe we have a chance to hold onto him. He's not going to stay at USF for $2M a season with a $3-4M a year offer on the table. It would be stupid of him to even consider. If he's making $3M at USF, it's easier to turn down a $4M dollar deal, but it might be possible. $4M is still a big number for a lot of P5 teams to throw around.

Writing to Harlan would do better than Taggart. That said, give Taggart props. The man deserves it!
-
nope... how would you feel if a couple thousands fans where begging you to stay?
An extra $2,000,000 a year would overshadow a lot of trepidation. Getting to hold onto guys like Woodie and Allen would go a long way as well.
You're overselling the fan voice. It doesn't mean nothing, but it also doesn't mean much.

Missouri is a different job. Taggart can't simply out recruit everyone and get a more talented team. Missouri will never be more talented than Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, etc... They can have better positions and enough match up advantages to win some games, but they will never be head to toe better than the majority of the SEC. It's a lot easier to convince a guy to go to USF than sit on an SEC bench or go to an Iowa State than convincing a kid to play at Missouri than Alabama.

Harlan holds the purse strings. It's up to Harlan. Unless you've got a few million burning a hole in your pocket, you're not influencing this decision.
-
It's up to Mark Harlan to convince him to stay, not the fans.

I will go to any bowl game on a weekend day. I'm out of vacation time and could likely tell my boss I'll just be gone for a Friday or Monday to travel, but I can't see myself wiggling out 2-3 days for any midweek game.
-
My family did Thanksgiving the Saturday before and I went to the game. I had told them I was going to the game and if they wanted me present to do it on another night. They obliged me.

Glad we are all in agreement about OCS..... Now how do we come up with $150 Million for the stadium and 30 million for a nice parking garage?
Considering the Unstoppable campaign has raised a total of $886,237,260 dollars since it was started (less than 10 years ago??). I think we could come up with that kind of funding some way some how.
