  1. ^I'm sorry, but you can definately hear the HOT in the student section. I've been to three of the four home games this year and sat in various areas of the student section and there was only one time I couldn't hear the band, singing the Alma Mater at the end of one game... you guys need to sing louder  ;)

  2. Do you think you SHOULD be able to hear them if everybody around you is making noise?

So the ONLY time he presses his hands to his helmet is when the band's playing but the crowd's not making any noise........ Do you keep a log?

Yes. If I'm 100 yards away from the band, I should be able to hear the fight song when we score. I've been to games at the Doak. I've been to games in Tuscaloosa. I've been a Vandy-Tennessee game. No madder how loud the crowd gets, you can hear the fight song when these teams score.

No I don't keep a log. But I am not the casual fan. I don't watch the game from a fans view, I watch it alot closer than that. Ask anyone who sits with me. I do notice Grothee having trouble when the bands playing. May it be something completly unralated? Sure. I'm just telling you what I see.

If our band had ~75+ years of existance, 400+ members, and we played in a stadium more accoustically friendly, this would be a reasonable argument.

  3. sounds like you have pretty crappy seats... i suggest moving closer to the fun

Those "crappy" seats are the ones on the first row with the bullies and the studs. It's tough being in the first row and caring about the game instead of how our band only plays when we have the ball. I like making it as hard as possible on our R.S freshman QB.

That's when Athletics tells the band to play. The band doesn't make a peep unless it's ok'd through whoever's on the other side of the headset from athletics.
