If we are not hitting threes, missing free throws, missing all those layups especially on fast breaks, no defensive rebounding..... it ends up costing you the game. Seemed like the same scenario every game at end of the season.

And computer rankings had us #1 but the humans made Ohio State #1. That week, Beano Cook, based on the rest of our schedule (which at the time, we would be favored in every game) predicted we would play for the National Championship with 12-0 record. You can say missed opportunity which makes the current NCAAT basketball miss minuscule.

McLane stadium seats 45K, designed by same Populous and cost $266 million.....maybe $350 million in today's $.

Populous with 10K less seating couldn't come up with something similar for $320 million? Instead, we have an FIU, FAU, UCF and any highschool in Tampa skeletal steel support structure going in.

Kelly assured it won't bounce like UCF because it will have preformed concrete seating base (like FSU) but it sure will look like it as you walk up, around and under it. Next they will be telling us we got a great deal on green chainlink fencing and we are going full-UCF on the inside with it.

So it will feel like FSU's Doak as you are sitting but anywhere else it will look like FAU, FIU, UCF. I thought we waited to do it right and learn from their stadiums and not do the quick and dirty?

Do we know any fans or alumni that were invited to be part of the design review? When Populous said "OK, when you walk up to your stadium, it is going to look just like FAU, FIU and UCF's stadiums." And you reply, Oh is that because we have a 180 million budget. They reply, "Nope, your green and gold erector set will be over 300 million."  During the Boca Bowl, did our higher-ups get limoed straight to the suite elevator and not have a chance to witness how bad these minimalist steel support stadiums look. It is the same design that every high school football stadium in the state of Florida has had for the last 30 years. Might as well just make it 25k seating and do it right from the start.

SMU will take the 4th seed and Memphis goes to 5th seed after losing to FAU. This likely is best scenario as they would have to play the day before and we should be able to wear them down in semifinal.

#16 Bama blowout to Florida last night should be in play with their terrible record. Two of the ranked teams they beat earlier in season have beaten them since.

Beat Tulsa and we should go ahead of:

21 SDSU

20 BYU if they lose to Iowa State

22 Utah State if they lose to SJSU

Likely not to move ahead but should

16 Bama lost bad to UF

17  South Carolina lost to Tennessee

Think this is their flight..they land at TIA at 9:43....not at YC at that time. Athletics may have wanted an early crowd.

Crappy espn showed highlights of all ranked games today except for ours at halftime of Duke game. We'll likely be the only Florida basketball team to be ranked after UF loss today.

Alpha hall(now called Kosove for some reason) also coming down. 2 years in Alpha and 1 Summer in Beta(roach hotel). We discovered the Cold War bomb shelter tunnel that went to Crescent Hill from under Alpha our Freshman year 86/87. There were still water ration cans that some folks brought out and were dared to drink.  Good times.

Toughest game in conference may be @Tulane a week after Miami.

Team looked tired overall as coach commented. Sunday's game took a lot out of them. Previous two games we had an extra days rest over both opponents. This Sunday will be that same scenario as SMU has to play FAU tomorrow night. FAU should wear them out too. I assume they will just stay in Florida and not fly back to Dallas between games. Need to jump on them early Sunday and wear them out. Double bye will be critical for AAC tourney.

Bryant-Denny seats 100k. Hasn't it been standard for 5k allotment for visiting teams for band, team and fans with a stadium that size. We had something close to that for the Auburn game. How were we able to take our band there back then and I doubt there going to Bama this year?
