  1. Correction....

I am not a bandwagon fan of the Miami Heat. I have been a fan since they started in 1988 (since I was 5). I was there through the ugly years when we had Steve Smith and Glen Rice. Then the years of Zo, Hardaway, Lenard, etc... and now with Shaq and Wade.

While Miami has bandwagon fans... I am definitely not one

These days, you don't have natives that were born in Miami, thus the passion is not there. You will notice that there are Dolfans, Marlins fans, and Heat fans all over the country attending "away" games because they have left Miami.

People show up to games when we win. (Kind of like USF's situation). It's simply entertainment down there... NOT passion

Well said....The ultimate bandwagon team in Miami is the Hurricanes.

  2. the steve nash argument is one of the stupidest things i have ever heard, do you have any idea what you are talking about??

NASH LED THE LEAGUE IN ASSISTS WITH 1.5 MORE PER GAME THAN THE RUNNERUP

How many people did the Suns lose from last year (Joe Johnson, Q Richardson, essentially Amare, couple others too)?? and still did just as well as they did last year

And Wade is not even in the top 5 players in the NBA, so get that out of your head right now

HEat fans just be happy you got extremely lucky down the stretch (refs and BS shots) and still could only pull it off by 2 on your home court.

This thread should be locked before the stupidity drops even more

    I can't believe I agree with a Vol. I'm gonna puke  ;D

  3. wade is the total package, plus he is humble both off and on the court.  he is a coaches dream player.  he is a team player, has at least 6 or more assists a game, scores in the 20's-30's every game, and brings teams back from deficets.  he also had a great game when he had the flu last series, like a certain former Chicago Bulls player did awhile ago..i'd take wade over kobe or lebron anyday.  and steve nash is a ball hog.  he wants to score every time he touches the ball and definetly did not deserve to be the mvp two years in a row, there are better people than him in the league, and we saw one of those score 14 straight points last night in the 4th with 5 fouls and a knee that took the weight of shaq into it.

and to say shaq isn't as good as he used to be is an understatement.  he lost 35 lbs this season, is quicker than he has been, and besides shaky foul shots he is playing a better game, imo.

That comment alone voids your argument. Ask Boris Diaw and Amare if he is a ball hog. Boris Diaw was a backup point guard on Atlanta last year and now he won 6th man. I am sure Nash had nothing to do with that. Thanks for the laugh!

  4. nope Wade is the best player in the NBA..... Better than Lebron.....Wade would have the same numbers Lebron has if he didnt have to share the ball with his supporting cast.

Well at leased your opinion isn't biased. Here is a list of players I would take over Wade:

    Dwight Howard

    Jameer Nelson

    Hedo Turkoglu

    Go Magic!

  5. My comments on a thread should show no more significance of the issue than usual.

I agree with you in saying his signing would create a buzz.  However, he is not one of the TOP guys in this recruiting class so it wouldn't be THAT big other than his name.

Joe, IMO, was simply suggesting to people that this kid signing with USF was not going to magically make 5 star players come to USF.

True...but you can't deny that this would bring alot of recruiting attention to USF.

  6. More Simms, and a new transfer ...

    It gets better!

I wasn't able to get Jim Leavitt on Wednesday night, so I went back to try to catch him Thursday afternoon. Not only is Phil Simms back visiting the football office again, but he has Chris Simms with him, watching videos of last year's team, then watching informal workouts on the practice fields. Very interesting, and just to put this in perspective, Matt Simms' head coach at Don Bosco Prep told me that USC is also recruiting Simms.

One player who says he will be at USF this fall is linebacker Marvin Peoples, tabbed a three-star recruit by Rivals out of Apopka last year. He redshirted last season at Maryland but told me Thursday he's accepted a scholarship offer and is transferring to USF, primarily to be closer to his family in Apopka.

It could be as many as five linebackers in this recruiting class, and Peoples would be one of the most highly touted of the gang. He's 6-1, 230 pounds, says USF likes him as a middle linebacker. Played three seasons at Orlando Evans then went to Apopka his senior year -- his high school coach said he was lining up as a second-string linebacker at Maryland this spring.

He's coming to Tampa on Monday to fill out his paperwork, and as long as he's accepted into the university, he's on board, potentially to play four years.

Didn't Peoples De-commit to UCF for Maryland last year??

  7. The Carson Palmer/Jordan Palmer thing was a nice try, but come on.  Phil Simms won a super bowl.  Carson Palmer is on equal footing with Chris Simms. Both led their team to the playoffs.

If we land Matt Simms it will generate very positive media exposure for USF. When your pops won a Super Bowl and your brother plays in the league, your decision of where to go will make headlines. Along with hopefully swinging a few recruits.

However, I don't care what QB we get as long as he is good.

    What are you smoking???

  8. Hello Everyone:

We typically put the information up in early July and we are still on target for that.  We've got several new places we've never traveled to before so the planning takes a little more effort that our usual locations.  We are also trying to find a safe, secure location for our tailgate in Orlando.

I'll keep you posted.  I will let you know that the tailgates will be about $35 per person and we will have a childrens rate this year.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Eric

    good luck with that!

    A quarterback controversy at Miramar

Gray said West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and Florida A&M have visited the Patriots' spring practice and everyone is impressed with senior defender Justin Francis. Francis, a 6-3, 250-pound linebacker, had a strong showing recently at a Nike recruiting combine at the University of Miami. Francis ran his 40-yard sprint in 4.5 seconds.

:o I hope we are recruiting this kid...
