The 11th Annual BULLSRALLY !

Clearwater, FL – The 11^th Annual BULLSRALLY was announced today by University of South Florida’s head coach Willie Taggart to be set on Saturday July 30^th from 1-4 pm at Capogna's Dugout (1653 gulf to bay Blvd. Clearwater 727-441-4791)

 This University of South Florida Football themed event invites the public to join the largest fan-based BULLS party in the world with an appearance by USF head football coach Willie Taggart!

This free, family-friendly event hosts hundreds of other BULLS fans for an appearance, Q & A and autograph session with USF head football coach Willie Taggart, USF Athletic Director Mark Harlan, and former and present players for the University’s football team. For the past ten years, this fan-based “grass roots” movement generates excitement in the Bay area for the upcoming USF BULLS football season and creates new fans, Alumni members and season ticket holders. Come watch the previous season’s video highlights, Interact with the Herd of Thunder, USF Spirit Squads, Rocky the Bull, play some games and win prizes.

So 350 BULLS fans saw this post, and have responded in one day to the point to where I've been kindly asked to have it stop. I can understand where the good folks at USF are coming from and I don't want to upset anyone, so please stop calling and emailing. But I applaud all of you who were so quick to keep the dream alive. What do you guys think about a Friday night? Just trying to get a feel.

I'm trying to get a date set for the Bullsrally, and I need all of you to email Coach T ( juliareed@usf.edu ) and Mark Harlan  ( markharlan@usf.edu ) just to ask when the date will be.  Don't  be snarky, just ask. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be a Saturday because of Coach Taggart's schedule. BUT a little push from you guys might sway their decision.  If they see that the Bullsrally has a legit following, hopefully we can make this year (the 11th) the biggest one yet. Capogna's really doesn't open till noon, but are opening for us an hour early. I'm getting there a bit early to set up but I can't open the doors to the public until 11. Sorry.

Gator Haven in pinellas is now partly green and gold. And from what I understand, they want to expand the USF portion of the store. I only talked to Jim a little bit, but invited him to see what he's all about. We'll see.

The city of Clearwater has listed the Bullsrally as a centennial event! I'm telling ya, this one will be big! Tony Grier might make an apperance and Coach Jones got the Bulls party bus painted just to show up! The bookstore will be there with their wares, and Jim from the new Bulls haven will be out to boot! 50 new Bullsrally mugs are in the works, and many, many giveaways! Be there.

I really need to stop drinking... or doing math. Math. Yeah math for sure.

The first "Preseason tailgate" was 2005. We had about 100 people show up to watch the USF awards ceremony highlights. We told Coach Leavitt and he jumped on board. The next year (2006) we had approx 200 people and it grew from there. And it was the preseason tailgate for years, Swamprat came up with the name Bullsrally 3-4 years ago.

I (or you) could make some advertising at the Bullsrally to give away.

I can only set the date when the head coach can fit it into their schedule. I've been asking since April. I have a month to advertise so if you guys can spread the word, we can make this one the biggest one ever. And, yes Randolph, double or nuthin son! (It's gotta happen one year).

It's 3 in the morning and I can't sleep. Really excited about this year's Bullsrally. We've never had this much support from USF ever before. The buzz around athletics reaches far beyond what it has in past years. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I need all of the BullsPenners to be noticed. Be loud and proud and introduce yourself to each other, you'd be surprised who you meet. I'm giving Brad a one year advance notice to show up for next year's event, so start saving (or walking) now. He's the model why I do what I do. Get some "Hello my name is" stickers with your handle on it and we'll see you tomorrow! Go BULLS! !!
