  1. (January 6, 2004) Tampa, Fla. - For the second time in as many weeks, the University of South Florida has agreed to a home-and-home football series with an ACC member program. USF and North Carolina will meet September 23, 2006 in Chapel Hill and September 22, 2007 in Raymond James Stadium.

Just two weeks ago, USF and Miami agreed to a home-and-home series set to begin October 1, 2005 in the Orange Bowl. The Hurricanes will then play in Raymond James Stadium on a date to be settled after an NCAA vote on 12-game seasons.

“The fact that schools like North Carolina and Miami are now agreeing to play USF on a home-and-home basis is testimony to how far Coach Leavitt and his staff have brought the program,†says Doug Woolard, USF Director of Athletics. “Our fans can look forward to seeing the best programs in the nation playing our Bulls right here in Tampa on a regular basis.â€Â

North Carolina completed a 6-6 season after a loss to Boston College in the Continental Tire Bowl in 2004, but three of the Tar Heel wins came against Miami, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State.

USF joins the Big East Conference in 2005, allowing the Bulls rotating home games with Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and West Virginia
