  1. From the Lunch quotes...

(On Terrence Leather starting Wednesday’s contest)

“I haven’t decided yet. He will practice today and tomorrow and we’ll take it from there. As far as him traveling with the team, he has served his punishment and we’re going to put it behind him and move on.â€Â

  2. Milwaukee, WI (Jan. 28, 2004) – The USF women’s basketball team looked to end a four-game road-losing streak, and a two-game road-losing skid against Conference USA schools, when it entered tonight’s game against future BIG EAST foe Marquette. More importantly, the Bulls looked for their first ever win against the Golden Eagles in 11 tries.

Unfortunately, history would repeat itself as Marquette handed USF a 67-41 loss in front of 1,628 at the Al McGuire Center. The loss was the worst for the Bulls (14-7, 4-3 Conference USA) since an 87-55 setback to Tulane on Feb. 14, 2003.

USF found themselves in a hole early as the Golden Eagles (13-6, 4-2 Conference USA) jumped out on a 22-9 run through the first 12:10 of the first half.

The Bulls however would close the final 7:51 of the first stanza on a 13-8 run to cut the Golden Eagle lead to eight points, 32-34.

USF would need to shoot better than its first half 33.3 percent (10-30) from the field in order to get back into the game in the second half, however would net a dismal 20.8 percent (5-24) in the final stanza en route to the loss.

The Bulls continued to feel the loss of center Nalini Miller (Capital Heights, MD) who injured her left hamstring against Louisville on Jan. 7. USF made the Marquette inside tandem of Christina Quaye and Danielle Kamm look like the next coming of David Robinson and Tim Duncan. The two paced a commanding 48-6 scoring advantage over the Bulls on the night.

Quaye scored a game high 20 points on 9-11 shooting from the field while Kamm had 11 points on 5-10 from the floor.

Anedra Gilmore (Jacksonville, FL) scored a team high 16 points for USF and Jessica Dickson (Ocala, FL) had 12 points in the loss.

The Bulls will be back in action on Sunday, Jan. 30 when they face No. 17/18 DePaul at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT. That game will be televised live on Fox Sports Chicago.

  3. Just to set the record straight

Sheriff - To say that to sing OLAY (and we only do that rarely over here during a game) is comparable to USF fans singing the Gators fight song is 100% wrong.

The OLAY song is sung around the world, it goes with football.  On top of this every team over here has at least 10-15 individual songs that are sung for our own team, about the away team, about our rivals(we dont need to be playing them at the time, they are sung every game) and about the refs.  Each game USF game I go to I try to get the student section to join in and make some noise by teaching them football songs and it seams to work (we made plenty of noise at the Tenn Tech game)

    Favourites include

    Whos your Father,

    Whos your father,

    Whos your father referee

    You havent got one,

    You never had one,

    Your a B@st@rd Referee.

Your Sh!t, and you know you are

Your Sh!t, and you know you are (repeat)

(to the tune Que Sera sera)

When I was younger I asked my mother what should I be?

Should I be Knights,? Should I be Bulls? Heres what she said to me

Wash youre mouth out son, and go fetch your fathers gun

    And Shoot the Knight Scum

    Shoot the Knight Scum

    Sundolls, give us a wave

Sundolls sundolls, give us a wave

    *pause for response*

(if a wave is given, cheer then continue song

Nice one sundolls, Nice on girls, Nice on Sundolls lets have another one

*pause for response*  Continue until bored!)

If no response is given, a short chorus of boos to try encourage a wave.  If one is achieved then convert to cheers!

NB Sundolls can be substituted for Jim/any player who has done good/anyone in the stadium(including the rather large state troopers standing around the pitch!)

Songs could also be created about individual players,

Of the top of my head.....You'll never stop Andre, You'll never stop andre.

There are plenty more, I just cannot remember them at the moment.

  4. TAURUS - THE BULL: With the name Taurus Johnson, it was inevitable Taurus would be a Bull.

Wednesday, the highly regarded Cape Coral wide receiver verbally committed to USF and canceled official visits to Alabama, Auburn and South Carolina.

``It was a pretty easy decision for me,'' said Johnson, rated the state's 37th-best recruit by Rivals.com. ``Coach [Carl] Franks has been coming down to see me and see how I'm doing. With him and Coach [Jim] Leavitt, that's one of the best staffs I've seen.

``Plus it's close to home and I'll get to play in Raymond James Stadium. There's nothing better than that.''

Johnson had 20 receptions for 481 yards and four TDs. At defensive end, he had 68 tackles and four sacks and also averaged 32.5 yards on kickoff returns.
