  1. I do not like any of the teams involved and certainly have no love to lose for the miscreants that are known as FSU. I  hope you all going back and forth about who belongs and who doesn't in the faux playoffs realize the pure folly of a sport where you can never be defeated but still cannot become a champion.  Even if you have a decent schedule and win all of your games you still have to be scored and chosen to compete. Football is not ice skating or gymnastics and should not be left to subjective choices. Instead of trying to protect the bogus bowls, the powers that be should have installed a legitimate playoff years ago. There is a reason why the NFL is KING.

Now, if I had said in August I bet that FSU would go undefeated and that includes wins over (name brands) LSU, Florida, Miami etc. and told you they would not be invited to the playoffs, all of you would have lined up thinking you were going to take easy money from me.

Finally, one of the catch phrases I had heard often over the years when I made the mistake of turning on ESECPN is "body of work".  Well, I believe the Bama game I saw up close and personal, I saw Bama's offensive line getting beat often against (pains me to say) one of the worst defenses in college football the last few seasons.  I reject the premise of "body of work" just on that alone. If Alabama was so superior to FSU, they would have manhandled, yes manhandled the USF defensive line.  They did not.

I remember their obnoxious fans at the last USF - UCF game.   They were waving their Big 12 banners as if they won the lottery.  Well they are in the Big 12, so show up at your games.   Nothing sweeter than seeing their attendance sink while they continue to lose conference games.

If the shoe had been on the other foot, I would have been relieved that USF squeaked our close victories rather than mock the other team. USF has been pathetic yet had legitimate chances to beat them.

This is why it’s ridiculous when people ***** about USF’s announced attendance numbers. Their game was sold out ….. everybody does this.

To add, I know USF's are not stellar but often people are in the club section or not in their seats so it looks worse than it is. As far as the miscreants go, I was watching the USF game and totally missed their's. I got a spy report from a fan of a fellow AAC team that a lot of their fans left when it was 35-10 thinking the game was over. That part is what is somewhat satisfying.

In a great show of respect for our "valiant effort." a two-touchdown win against the Bulls dropped Bama 3 spots in the AP poll and 2 in the Coaches' poll.

Not happy with another loss for sure. Still, I don't think it is celebrating anything to still find it amusing that our less than stellar team knocked them out of the top 10. This is the flagship of a conference that ESECPN and SEC fans bragged about to make sound like they are as good or better than the NFL. Haha

The conference is the cause of this. The lack of interest, ambition, purpose etc around usf football is the fault of our conference situation.

Independent or fold the program. No other option.

So, the conference caused a competitive program to be a doormat?  I reject the premise.  While certainly there was a drop off on interest, the conference is not an excuse for failure.  If USF was actually winning games in the AAC and against perceived lesser competition while getting blown our by p5 teams, your point would be valid.  Clearly that is not the case here.

I believe us, uconn, and Tulane are the only schools that used to be in a power conference but are not any longer.

Rice was in the old Southwest Conference.  Temple was in the Big East before USF.

Even so, your point is well taken.  The only team which moved up and had not been in a power conference........, well we won't same the name.

Plateau? Like 8 to 9 wins then lose 3 conference games? Yea, I would like that too.

As a sometimes critic of certain things back then, I was still rational enough and objective enough to ask the malcontents the all important question:  "Who can we get who would be better".  They made it all seem so easy.  Here we are, in year 14 after the deed was done.  The program only had 13 years under it's belt at the time.

What is this fascination with Appalachian State University? And Marshall University? Why not invite Coastal Carolina, or James Madison? Why say such a thing? 'Cause my nieces went there. That's it. That's where my interest in adding for sake of adding comes to an abrupt end. 🤣

James Madison would only make sense for the ACC.  The ACC already has Duke, with JMU, they would have multiple Dukes. 🙃
