Going 1-15 in conference and losing your last 15 in a row will get anybody fired.

Again, USF was never 'supposed' to do anything. It was a brand new program doing amazing things, exceeding national expectations, and only falling short of ridiculous fan expectations. You're unrealistic. Those were all brands that had bigger followings and a bigger budget.
Look, I love The Jim. What the man built here from zilch was truly remarkable. But, people need to stop acting like we fired Nick Saban and squandered away 10 years of conference and national championships. We were a mediocre BE team, never won a conference championship and would occasionally pull off some nice upsets.

Yeah, Leavitt didnt go undefeated as a decade old program against competition that included 4-5 top 25 teams in the country a year... people like you have ridiculous standards. Who do you think USF was supposed to be? USF was nobody before Leavitt, and is still nobody after him. Idk what delusional world you're living in that we were 'meant' to be relevant.
Lost to Cincy by 17, Pitt by 27, Rutgers by 31, Miami by 21. I think USF was "supposed" to be better than getting blown out week after week and finishing 6th place in the BE with a defense laden with NFL talent.

CJL never lost 8 in a row.
True, not even Skippy or Tags can say that.

Nate Allen one of my favorite all time Bulls, but on that play ugh....
For all the CJL love around here this 2009 season was textbook CJL. 5-0 start, including the FSU win, loses to Cincy (with their backup QB) and then proceeds to get absolutely blown out by Pitt, Rutgers, and Miami. Top it off with a loss to UCONN. Hey, we did beat Northern Illinois in the International Bowl though..... Yeah, bringing THAT guy back will fix all of this program's problems.

This stinks of CCS nonsense from last year. Just a guess.
Didn't eat all of his vegetables at the team dinner?

Maybe not. The "U" is the wrong color...

Saw an article in the TBT. This brings back some good USF memories. There is a neon USF/Yuengling sign up for sale if anyone is interested.

USF and UCF could not be going in more different directions at the moment. I don't think preeminence is coming any time soon to our friends to the east.
Are you referring to our football programs?

That's a terrible take. Gasparilla is a source of pride for the community and something that should be embraced more substantively.
I suppose so if you are into drunk, douchey, south Tampa attorneys dressed up like pirates. Arrrgggghhhhh

7-6 depends on context. Any of those other 7-6 teams start out 7-0? I don’t have time to research it.
Let me help you out with that. NO. We are the first team in history to start out 7-0 and lose 6 straight. So we got that going for us, which is nice.

He didn't need to rebuild! If he would have kept the systems in place and especially the GCO and restock on positions and even coach well then we would be in a good position right now!

If you want choir boys playing then don't be surprised by the lack of depth and talent when guys are run off and suspended all the time.

Any chance 4 inches of rain kept some people away????????
14,135 announced. I'm sure the rain dissuaded a couple hundred walk-ups. On a perfect day there wouldn't have been 18,000 tickets sold.

What bothers me the most is the team got worse as the season progressed. In the 2nd year you can overlook the record if you see improvement as the season goes on but this year the team clearly regressed week after week.
Yes, trending the wrong way. It's almost the Holtz New Error 2.0.
