  1. We were by the 1st base line.

SBC had a social and we had a ton of students there.

Did a few things too.  Like when we had a runner at first and their pitcher looked that way we'd all wave to try and brake his concentration.  We also did the "left, right, left" thing when a batter struck out, along with the basic "U-S-F" and "Let's go Bulls" chants.  Maybe you just can't hear it from where you guys were at, but we were definitely doing them.

Great game yesterday, plenty of SBC students having fun and that will probably come back for another game.

On a side note: That fog was creeping me out.  Never seen so much of it.

  2. ^^^ Ever notice how these kinds of chants always seem to speed up ??

It's like the fans can't seem to keep a rhythm....

    U     S     F     clap

    U   S   F   clap

    U  S  F c lap

    U S F clap

    USFclap

    USFclap

Just something I've noticed over the years....

Glad to know I'm not the only one that finds this annoying.

  3. I do understand where you're coming from.  I'm just saying I disagree.

I'll make sure that next time a friend of mine graduates from another school and wants to attend a USF game I tell them, "NO!  DON'T  YOU KNOW, YOU CAN'T CHEER ON FOR OTHER TEAMS -- ITS AGAINST THE RULES OF BEING A FAN!"

Again, I see your point.  I just think you need to think about it in another light.  What if it was supporting USF?  Would we have to turn them down?

I'm not for hoping the hometown team loses, they win the Superbowl, good for them, a Stanley Cup win--good for them, I still wouldn't care.  I don't think someone should have to like a team just because they play in their backyard.

  4. If he goes to Vandy he's choosing academics.  Why would he choose a sport over academics?

Like Joe says, everyone has their own story.  It would be completely stupid for someone to give up their loyalty to a team just because they've moved.  You can't just start liking a team like that, you like a team because you like to, not because you're forced to.  People wouldn't know the teams traditions and history..hell, after they've learned them they'd probably move and have to learn new ones, that'd be frustrating.  I can guarantee you that many people that believe this would be called bandwagon fans by the real ones.

And "Be there through think and thin" applies to the NFL?  Not to baseball, the NBA and college?  Some people make being a fan so complicated when it doesn't have to be.

  5. I've been in Tampa for almost 6 yrs now and I still do not follow the Bucs and Devil Rays.  I grew up cheering for the Yankees and occasionally the Giants so that is the team that I will cheer for.  Telling someone that they can't cheer for the team they grew up with plain stupid.  I will never be a Devil Rays fan, they're not my team, and IF they ever start being a decent team I will not follow them.

Tampa is a bandwagon town, however, when Northeners have teams they will follow them for life.  That's what a real fan is, one that will follow them through think and thin.  I can guarantee you that IF the D-Rays turn good all the Tampa natives will be the ones bandwagoning, saying they've followed them for years.
